"Yes Inv… just like that… keep going…" I whisper into Inv's ear.

Inv's purrs kicked into overdrive from my words. I could feel his tail starting to slightly sway side to side behind me.
'Yes… yes… YES!' I gently caress Inv behind the ears, knowing that each passing second was one that led towards getting back to the shelter.
'Eat Inv, eat! Eat the lizards! Grow big and strong! Well, he is already big and strong but having more is never bad!'
While thinking this to myself I look down the corridor making sure nothing is making its way towards us while Inv eats.
Why am I currently gushing over my partner feasting upon the corpses of 5 lizards? Simple! We won't have to look for food for him with this! Which will save us a lot of time and not have us risk our lives trying to climb the wall for food.
How did we get 5 freshly delivered cyan lizards to the footsteps of our shelter?

I slightly narrow my eyes further down the corridor where the remnants of an explosion can be seen…
