Chapter 248 - Chapter 251 The Ancient One's Advice

Chapter 251 The Ancient One's Advice

Fortunately, the Ancient One did not disappoint him and successfully resolved the issue.

  "Thank you, teacher!"

Finney thanked the Ancient One first, then carefully examined the bead. Its appearance remained unchanged, and it hadn't gained any new abilities.

It seemed Njord hadn't hidden anything regarding its effects.

  "What did you promise him?"

the Ancient One asked curiously. Although she occasionally checked on Finney, she had so many things to do every day that she couldn't watch over him constantly.

"He received a prophecy that Vanaheim might face a terrible catastrophe, and he believes I might be able to break this prophecy and avert it!"

Hearing Finney's words, the Ancient One's expression immediately turned serious, her brows furrowing as she asked, "What kind of prophecy?"

Finney repeated Njord's prophecy. The Ancient One pondered for a long time, finally sighing and admonishing, "Be very careful. I don't know much about Vanaheim's prophetic spells, but it's said they never have unfulfilled prophecies!"

  "However, if it were you…"

The Ancient One gave Finney a deep look, not continuing. The reason she had initially approached Finney was precisely because of his special abilities.

Her carefully planned future had long been ruined by Finney.

Looking at the Ancient One's gaze, Finney felt somewhat helpless. Sometimes he also wished he could be able to predict the future, at least then he could choose the abilities he received.

Finney didn't dwell on this issue; he was more concerned about something else.

He was interrupted halfway through the Jotunheim instance. Does this mean that the same thing will happen if he goes to Muspelheim or other realms next?

"Teacher, I want to continue my journey to other realms to find more opponents!"

Finney thought for a moment and decided to explain the situation to the Ancient One beforehand.

Although practicing skills could also gain experience, it was undoubtedly the least efficient method. Many dangers were looming ahead, and while he hadn't reached the point of resorting to any means to gain power and become stronger, he didn't want to grow slowly.

The Ancient One's expression was somewhat helpless. She got up and placed the slightly cold kettle on the stove, then slowly said, "Actually, I also traveled the universe to gain knowledge back then."

"The universe is vast, and not everyone is willing to welcome me."

Finney looked at the Ancient One, who was heating the kettle by the stove, with a puzzled expression, not understanding why she suddenly brought this up.

"Later, I thought of a way to visit them in the form of challenges."

The Ancient One turned to look at Finney, but didn't continue. She herself had also roamed the universe in her day.

Finney instantly understood what the Ancient One meant. She was saying that he lacked a reason to fight.

For example, in the battle at Jotunheim just now, if he had approached the Frost Giants as a sorcerer of Kamar-Taj to spar with them, the situation might have been different.

Even if the battle escalated back to what it was just now, Odin might want to stop it, but the Frost Giants, for the sake of their pride, wouldn't necessarily agree.

Besides, Odin was only worried about the Nine Realms falling into war again; he didn't understand that Phineas simply wanted to win and gain experience.

The title 'White Butcher' had also misled Odin to some extent.

By challenging him, Phineas was also telling Odin that he simply wanted to fight, nothing more.

  "I understand!"

  Phineas sighed in reply.

He still hoped for a freer battle, without so much concern for others. After all, this reason wasn't without its drawbacks. First, he couldn't use lethal force again, and second, unless his opponents were truly intent on killing him, they probably wouldn't all attack him at once.

After chatting for a while, Finney began preparing to teleport back to Asgard.

Although he had just had a falling out with Odin, he still needed to go back because the star map was still there; he hadn't expected this situation before going to Jotunheim.

After preparing for a while, Finney returned to Asgard using the 'White Dragon's Bite'. Because the royal palace was enchanted, he couldn't teleport directly in, so he had to continue teleporting to the Rainbow Bridge.

Looking at Heimdall, who was staring at him, Finney looked back at him and asked, "What's wrong?"

  "What's that compass of yours?"

After teleporting Finney to Jotunheim, Heimdall had been secretly watching, so he had seen Finney using the compass to find his way.

"A magical item, it can point me to where I want to go!"

Finney didn't care much and tossed the compass from his pocket. The item itself didn't have any special effects; it was mainly useful when used with the 'Golden Grand Magic'.

Heimdall glanced at the compass that remained motionless in his hand, then looked up at Phineas, tossed it back, and asked, "I suddenly couldn't find you earlier. Where did you go?"

  "Got home!"

Phineas casually explained, not particularly surprised. The Ancient One was the Sorcerer Supreme; blocking Heimdall's signal was no big deal.

Although Heimdall was somewhat concerned, considering it might be Phineas's special ability, he ultimately didn't press further.

"Were you trying to kill all the Frost Giants?"

Heimdall had witnessed Phineas's battles many times and was deeply impressed by the dazzling crimson 'explosion magic,' which was why he activated the Bifrost immediately to try and stop Phineas.

"If I said no, would you believe me?"

Phineas glanced at Heimdall and replied.

Heimdall was one of the people he knew best in Asgard; although the other was taciturn, he was the one he could talk to most easily.

Hearing Finney's words, Heimdall paused slightly, then nodded and said, "I believe you!"

Finney looked at Heimdall with surprise. The feeling of being trusted made him feel much better. He walked over, patted Heimdall on the shoulder, and added,

"I just wanted to defeat them all. The worst consequence of that spell would only be serious injury, not death!"

"But you shouldn't have gone there in the first place. You should have just run away!"

Heimdall sighed. He trusted his judgment of people, so he believed what Finney said.

"I haven't even blamed you for teleporting me to such a remote, godforsaken place!"

Thinking of the three days they had traveled, Finney said irritably, then added confidently, "Besides, why run away from a battle you can win!?"

  "..."

  Heimdall was speechless.

  "Alright, I'm going back now!"

Finney waved his hand, preparing to return to the palace to find the star map. He felt he needed to find an opportunity to bring it back for Tony to study.

After bidding farewell to Heimdall, Finney pondered how to face Odin next. He had publicly humiliated Odin, and although only the Frost Titans and Heimdall knew, there was no guarantee Odin wouldn't hold a grudge.

Thinking of this, Finney sighed. Ultimately, it came down to insufficient strength. If he possessed the power to disregard everything, why would he care about such things?

Almost time for the ninth skill—an offensive skill!
