Gildarts didn't dare be careless in the face of this move. After all, Kael's previous techniques were already dangerous enough; now that those two techniques were merging, the power would obviously be even greater.
Boom—!
A terrifying magic power erupted from Gildarts, concentrating into a dense mass around his fist.
"Hollow Purple!"
Kael snapped his fingers. A massive purple sphere tore toward Gildarts, leaving perfectly smooth, circular gouges in the ground wherever it passed.
"Crushing Evil, Spreading the Truth: Absolute Heaven!!"
Gildarts let out a roar, driving his fist straight into the Hollow Purple.
"Hraaaaah!!"
The ground beneath Gildarts' feet shattered instantly.
Crack! Crack!
Fractures began to web across the purple sphere of the Hollow Technique.
Ping—!
The purple sphere burst apart, sending a violent shockwave screaming toward Kael.
Kael dodged with lightning speed. He had already sensed that Gildarts' Crush magic had a certain advantage over his Infinity. It wasn't that the principle of Infinity was inferior, but rather that Gildarts' magic power was so immense that Infinity simply couldn't hold out against it.
Boom! Boom! Boom—!
The earth where he had just been standing was utterly pulverized. The shockwave surged toward a distant hillside, punching a massive hole straight through the terrain.
"Waaaaah!"
The onlookers screamed as they witnessed the horrific level of destruction.
Kael seized the opening, appearing upside down right above Gildarts' head.
"Domain Expansion: Unlimited Void!"
Kael expanded his domain, and a massive black sphere materialized, swallowing both Kael and Gildarts whole.
Once they were trapped inside, Kael compressed the domain to its minimum size to prevent the effects from spilling over onto the crowd, mirroring the strategy used in the battle between Gojo and Sukuna.
"Where did they go?!"
Everyone was dazed. The two fighters had vanished in an instant, leaving only a small, pitch-black sphere behind.
"What's going on?!"
Erza explained, "That is Kael's domain. It's a terrifying magic that attacks the brain directly."
Back at the Tower of Heaven, she had seen with her own eyes how Jellal was rendered completely helpless the moment he was hit by this move.
Gajeel added with a grim expression, "Kael said that just 0.2 seconds is enough to paralyze a Wizard Saint for five minutes, and a normal person for two months."
"What?!"
The members of Fairy Tail were horrified. If 0.2 seconds could paralyze a Wizard Saint for five minutes, wouldn't any Wizard Saint be at his mercy? No wonder Kael was being called the 'Saint Killer.'
The guild had already given Kael a private nickname: the Saint Killer. After all, of the ten Wizard Saints, two had already been defeated by him.
Meanwhile, inside the domain.
As soon as Gildarts entered the domain, he felt a massive flood of information slamming into him, eroding his mind and attempting to turn his brain into a vegetable.
His magic power could resist part of the erosion, but it couldn't block it entirely. While he could still move, he had to get out of there immediately.
A massive aura of magic power surged from Gildarts' body as he slammed his palm onto the ground and roared:
"Mizuwari!"
—!
The ground began to rapidly dismantle, breaking into countless fragments.
Outside, the guild members saw dense cracks appearing on the surface of the small black sphere.
Ping—!
The black sphere shattered, and the figures of Kael and Gildarts reappeared.
"Haa... haa..."
Gildarts breathed heavily, plopping down onto the ground. He waved his hand dismissively and said, "No more! I'm done! I surrender!"
"What—?!!"
The entire guild was shocked. The great Gildarts had actually conceded.
"How is that possible?!"
That was Gildarts they were talking about!
Kael returned to his original form and shook his head. "No, I'm the one who lost. I used every move I have, and even the Domain Expansion couldn't do anything to you. You really are super strong, old man."
Kael knew Gildarts hadn't used his full strength, and neither had he, especially with so many people watching. But he knew that even if he went all out, it was unlikely he could defeat Gildarts.
The old man's magic was too broken. He could crush anything, even space itself. Kael's Infinity was practically useless in front of him.
If the old man had been out for blood and Kael got hit head-on, he probably would have been blown to bits.
"You brat! What do you mean you used all your moves?! Don't think I don't know you have other transformations!"
"..."
Kael had been so focused on the fight that he had forgotten about his other Take Overs. But even with them, it would be the same. This old man's combat instincts and magic were both top-tier. Crush magic countered almost everything, only falling short against the magic-immune scales of the Dragon Race.
"Hey, kid, what was that magic just now? I felt like an infinite amount of info was being shoved into my skull."
Gildarts looked at Kael. He was genuinely curious about that last move. Aside from that terrifying black dragon, this was the only thing in years that had made him feel a lethal sense of danger.
"That's my domain, it's called 'Unlimited Void.' Once an opponent is pulled in, their brain is flooded with a massive amount of useless information, forcing the mind to process it until it suffers a total breakdown and paralysis."
"But you really are something else, old man. By my calculations, 0.2 seconds should be enough to paralyze a Wizard Saint for five minutes and a normal person for two months. You weren't affected at all. Truly incredible."
Kael looked at Gildarts in amazement, a hint of admiration in his eyes.
However, he now realized he needed to re-evaluate the power of his domain. Against those with overwhelming magic power, the effectiveness seemed to drop significantly. He would have to use it sparingly in the future, as the magic cost was quite high.
Gildarts' mouth twitched. "You brat, it was just a spar! How could you use such a dangerous move?!"
No wonder he had felt so much information nearly making his brain crash. If he hadn't crushed the domain in time, he really would have been paralyzed. Even though he still had plenty of magic left, his spirit was exhausted from processing all that junk data. To put it simply, he had overexerted his brain.
His instincts were right; that magic was incredibly dangerous. Brain paralysis meant being at someone's mercy. Even if he broke out, the mental fatigue would ruin his combat state, so he had simply conceded.
Makarov raised his hand and announced: "The match is decided! The winner: Kael!!"
"Ooooooh!!"
"That was amazing!"
"It's settled then!"
"The strongest mage in the Fairy Tail guild!"
