Chapter 192 - CHAPTER 192

The sky outside began to change color.

Dawn was slowly breaking.

Inside that room, time seemed to have stopped.

There was no morning.

No light.

Only tension that pressed down endlessly.

Sophia lay there, her breathing growing increasingly unstable.

Cold sweat dampened her temples.

Her hand still gripped the bedsheet.

Tighter than before.

Pain came in waves.

Irregular.

Strong enough to make her body stiffen every few seconds.

Beside her, Adrian Blackwood stood.

Closer than ever before.

No distance.

No distractions.

His entire focus was on one thing.

Sophia.

"Hold on," he said softly.

His voice was gentler than usual.

Beneath it, there was pressure that could not be hidden.

Sophia opened her eyes.

Looking at him.

There was pain.

There was exhaustion.

And there was also something unwavering.

Determination.

"I am here," she answered quietly.

On the other side of the room, Daniel remained in front of the screen.

His eyes were red.

He did not stop.

The attacks had not lessened.

Instead, they had become more targeted.

"He is closing our paths one by one," he said.

Leonard Graves stood behind him.

"Meaning he is ready for the end."

Daniel nodded.

"Yes."

Adrian turned his head.

His gaze was sharp.

"How long can we hold out."

Daniel did not answer immediately.

Several seconds passed.

"It depends."

He paused for a moment.

"How fast we move."

Sophia heard that.

Despite her weak body.

Her mind was still working.

"We don't have time anymore," she said softly.

Everyone turned to look.

She took a breath.

Even though it felt heavy.

"We have to go straight to the center."

Silence.

Deeper than before.

Leonard raised an eyebrow.

"Straight to the heart."

Sophia nodded.

"Yes."

Daniel shook his head slowly.

"That is too risky."

Sophia looked at him.

"We are already inside."

She paused briefly.

"If we retreat now, we die slowly."

Silence fell again.

No one argued.

Because everyone knew.

It was the truth.

Adrian looked at Sophia.

Longer.

Deeper.

He saw her condition.

And he knew.

He could not let it get worse.

On the other hand.

He also knew.

If they did not finish this.

All sacrifices would be in vain.

"Daniel."

One call.

But it was enough.

Daniel turned immediately.

"Open the path to the center."

Daniel held his breath.

He nodded.

"Understood."

Leonard smirked faintly.

"Now this is the real game."

Daniel began to move.

Unlike before.

Every step was more careful.

Deeper.

More concealed.

Because one mistake.

Could mean the end.

On the screen.

Layer after layer began to open.

Systems that were previously closed off.

Now revealed little by little.

Sophia watched.

Even though her vision was becoming heavy.

She did not look away.

"Keep going," she said softly.

Daniel nodded.

"Almost there."

Suddenly.

Sophia's body stiffened.

The pain returned.

Stronger.

Sharper.

She inhaled sharply.

Her breath caught.

Adrian was instantly back by her side.

"Sophia."

His tone changed again.

More strained.

The doctors moved quickly.

"Blood pressure is rising."

"Stabilize her now."

Instructions sounded in rapid succession.

Sophia closed her eyes.

Her hand gripped Adrian's.

Tighter.

As if it was the only thing holding her together.

On the other side.

Daniel did not stop.

Even though the sounds behind him grew more tense.

He kept moving.

Because he knew.

If he stopped now.

It would all be over.

"I am almost there," he said.

Leonard stood closer.

"Come on."

His voice was more serious.

No more casualness.

Adrian looked at Sophia.

Then looked at the screen.

Two worlds.

Two battles.

And he had to protect both.

Several seconds passed.

That felt like an eternity.

Until finally.

Daniel stopped.

His hands hovered in the air.

"I am in."

Silence.

Heavier than before.

He rotated the screen.

New data appeared.

Deeper.

More complex.

And more dangerous.

Sophia opened her eyes.

Seeing it.

And she knew.

They had succeeded.

But that success did not come without a price.

Because at the same moment.

Her body began to weaken.

Her breath grew shorter.

And the pain could no longer be endured.

The doctor looked at the monitor.

His face was tense.

"Her condition is deteriorating."

The words fell.

Like a hammer.

Adrian turned immediately.

"What do you mean."

The doctor did not hesitate.

"We have to act now."

Silence.

Quieter than before.

Sophia looked at Adrian.

Her eyes were slightly hazy.

But still conscious.

"Don't stop."

Her voice was soft.

Clear.

Adrian looked at her.

And for a moment.

Everything else vanished.

No war.

No enemies.

Only him.

And the woman in front of him.

Reality returned.

Harder.

Crueler.

Daniel spoke again.

"We don't have much time here."

Leonard added.

"If he realizes we are inside, he will shut everything down."

Adrian closed his eyes for a moment.

One second.

Two seconds.

Then opened them again.

His gaze had changed.

Colder.

More certain.

"Proceed."

Sophia smiled faintly.

Despite her weakness.

It was enough.

Elsewhere.

Marcus Sterling stared at the screen.

Something had changed.

He narrowed his eyes.

"They are in."

Someone beside him tensed up.

"What should we do."

Marcus smiled.

This time wider.

"Let them."

Silence.

"Because the deeper they go."

He continued.

"The harder it will be for them to get out."

Back in the room.

Everyone moved.

Faster.

More tense.

Because now.

This was no longer just about winning.

This was about survival.

And not everyone.

Would make it out of this alive.

Seconds felt stretched.

Every sound in the room sounded clearer than usual.

The beeping of machines.

The broken breathing.

And the rapid tapping of fingers on the keyboard.

Daniel stared at the screen without blinking.

"I am at the second layer," he said.

His voice was lower.

But strained.

On the screen, the structure grew increasingly complex.

The paths grew narrower.

And the slightest mistake could cause everything to collapse.

Leonard Graves stood right behind him.

"What do you see."

Daniel swallowed hard.

"This isn't just a protection system."

He zoomed in.

"This is a layered trap."

Leonard exhaled.

"Of course."

On the other side.

Adrian Blackwood was still holding Sophia's hand.

Tighter than before.

As if afraid of losing her.

As if if he let go for even a second, everything would disappear.

Sophia opened her eyes slowly.

Her vision was becoming heavier.

But she could still see.

Still able to think.

"What is happening," she asked softly.

Adrian did not answer immediately.

Daniel spoke up.

"We are going deeper."

Sophia nodded slightly.

"And."

Daniel paused.

"We might not get out easily."

Sophia did not look surprised.

As if she already knew.

As if this was an inevitable direction.

The pain returned.

Stronger than before.

Her body stiffened.

Her breath hitched.

Her hand squeezed Adrian's even harder.

Adrian moved closer immediately.

"Sophia."

His voice was deeper.

More urgent.

The doctors moved quickly.

"Heart rate is unstable."

"Prepare for further procedures."

Their voices sounded increasingly fast.

More desperate.

Sophia tried to focus.

The pain was becoming harder to bear.

She closed her eyes.

Tears still fell.

Not out of weakness.

But because her body had truly reached its limit.

On the other side.

Daniel suddenly stopped.

His expression changed.

"There is a response."

Leonard tensed up immediately.

"How fast."

Daniel looked at the screen.

"Fast."

Adrian turned his head.

His gaze was sharp.

"He knows."

Daniel nodded.

"He doesn't just know."

He paused for a moment.

"He was waiting for us here."

Silence fell.

Heavier than before.

Sophia opened her eyes again.

Despite the difficulty.

She heard everything.

"Continue."

Her voice was soft.

But clear.

Adrian looked at her.

There was refusal.

But also understanding.

Daniel moved again.

But this time.

More carefully.

Every step was like walking on a thin line.

The slightest deviation.

And everything would fall.

Leonard watched.

His eyes never left the screen.

"If this is a trap."

Daniel answered without turning.

"Then we are already inside it."

Several seconds passed.

Then.

The screen flickered.

Data shifted.

The structure opened up a little more.

Daniel held his breath.

"I see the core."

Sophia smiled faintly.

Despite her weakness.

"Good."

At the same time.

Her body stiffened again.

The pain came stronger.

Sharper.

And this time.

She could not endure it completely.

The doctors reacted immediately.

"Pressure dropping."

"Quickly."

Their voices grew more panicked.

Adrian focused back on Sophia.

His face changed.

Darker.

More strained.

"Sophia, listen to me."

He held her hand tighter.

"You have to hold on."

Sophia opened her eyes.

It was difficult.

But she did it.

Looking at Adrian.

And in that gaze.

There was something deep.

More than just pain.

Trust.

"Don't stop," she whispered.

On the other side.

Daniel finally went deeper.

Data opened up.

Wider.

Clearer.

And also more dangerous.

"I am at the center."

Leonard exhaled.

"Finally."

Adrian turned his head.

His gaze was sharp.

"What do you see."

Daniel swallowed.

"Everything."

He rotated the screen.

The complete structure was visible.

The network.

The names.

The movements.

Everything connected.

Sophia saw it.

Though faint.

But she knew.

This was it.

The core of everything.

Before they could move further.

The screen suddenly changed.

Dark for a moment.

Then something new appeared.

A signal.

Daniel tensed up.

"There it is."

Leonard frowned.

"What."

Daniel answered quietly.

"He is here."

Silence fell.

Colder.

Sharper.

Elsewhere.

Marcus Sterling stood in front of the screen.

His gaze was calm.

A smile slowly appeared.

"You finally made it."

Back in the room.

Everyone tensed up.

Because now.

This was no longer a distant battle.

It was direct.

No intermediaries.

Sophia took a breath.

Though heavy.

She still spoke.

"Finish it."

Adrian looked at the screen.

Then looked at Sophia.

And in one moment.

He made his decision.

"No turning back."

Daniel nodded.

His hands moved again.

Leonard grinned.

And amidst the sound of machines.

And the breath that was almost gone.

The final battle began to take shape.

Closer.

More dangerous.

And this time.

No one could escape.
