Chapter 186 - CHAPTER 186

Night fell slowly, covering the last traces of light that had lingered behind the hospital window.

City lights began to turn on one by one.

Yet for those inside the room, the outside world no longer felt distant.

Because the threat was already too close.

Sophia sat leaning back, her body still weak, but her eyes were alive. In front of her, the laptop screen lit up again, casting a faint glow on her face.

"Got it," Daniel said softly.

He rotated the screen.

New data appeared.

Names.

Addresses.

Accounts.

A trail that had remained hidden for so long.

Sophia watched without blinking.

"That's him," she said.

Leonard Graves stepped closer. "His trusted man?"

Daniel nodded. "More than that. He's the one keeping both the clean and dirty funds undetected."

Leonard smirked slightly. "If he falls, the system shakes."

Sophia stared at the screen longer.

No hesitation.

No wavering.

"If he falls, Marcus will come out."

Silence descended.

The words were clear.

And dangerous.

Adrian Blackwood stood at the side of the room, observing everything.

He did not speak immediately.

But his mind was racing.

A new target.

New risks.

Consequences that were far from small.

"Name," he finally said.

Daniel took a breath.

"Arman Virelli."

The room instantly felt colder.

Leonard raised an eyebrow. "I've heard of him. He never shows his face."

Daniel nodded. "That's why he's valuable."

Sophia smiled faintly.

"And that is why he is weak."

Several seconds passed.

No one moved immediately.

Because everyone knew, touching this man meant crossing a line from which there was no return.

Adrian finally stepped closer.

His gaze went to the screen.

Then to Sophia.

"Are you sure?"

The question was simple.

Yet heavy.

Sophia looked back at him.

"There is no other choice."

Adrian did not answer right away.

He glanced at Sophia's midsection briefly.

Then back to her eyes.

"There is always a choice."

His voice was low.

More personal.

But Sophia did not back down.

"Not one that keeps us alive."

Silence fell again.

But this time it was deeper.

Because both were right.

And there was no safe path.

Daniel cleared his throat softly.

"Where do we start?"

Sophia refocused on the screen.

"He won't be easy to touch directly."

Daniel nodded. "So we press from the outside."

Leonard crossed his arms.

"Social circles. Finances. Legal pressure."

Sophia nodded slowly.

"And reputation."

Leonard smiled. "I like that part."

The plan began to take shape.

Detail by detail.

Step by step.

Nothing was rushed.

Yet everything moved fast.

Because they knew time was not on their side.

Daniel started opening pathways.

Sending data.

Connecting points.

Leonard prepared the field teams.

Contacts were mobilized.

Information gathered.

Meanwhile, Sophia oversaw.

Correcting.

Directing.

And Adrian remained there.

Watching everything.

But his mind wasn't fully on the plan.

But on one thing.

How far this would go.

And what price would have to be paid.

On the other side of the city, a tall building stood majestically with lights that never went out.

Inside, a man sat in a spacious office.

Calm.

Neat.

Undisturbed.

Arman Virelli.

He looked at the screen in front of him.

Several notifications popped up.

Transactions disrupted.

Paths being touched.

He did not panic.

Did not react immediately.

But his eyes narrowed slightly.

"Finally," he murmured softly.

He picked up his phone.

Dialed a number.

It didn't take long.

The voice on the other end answered.

"Yes."

Arman wasted no time.

"They are starting to close in."

A brief silence.

Then the voice replied.

"Let them."

Arman smiled faintly.

"As usual."

He ended the call.

Then returned to the screen.

His hands moved slowly.

Several commands were sent.

And in silence.

He began to prepare.

Back at the hospital

The atmosphere grew more intense.

Daniel suddenly stopped typing.

His expression changed.

"There's a response."

Everyone focused immediately.

"What is he doing," Leonard asked.

Daniel pointed at the screen.

"He isn't closing the paths."

Sophia narrowed her eyes.

"He's opening more."

Silence.

Leonard clicked his tongue.

"That's not a normal reaction."

Adrian understood instantly.

"He wants us to go deeper."

Sophia nodded.

"Yes."

Her eyes grew sharper.

"And this time… we are ready."

Several seconds passed.

Daniel looked at Sophia.

"Should we continue?"

Sophia didn't answer immediately.

She stared at the screen.

Then closed her eyes for a moment.

Regulating her breathing.

Calculating the risks.

And when she opened her eyes again.

There was no doubt.

"Continue."

One word.

But it was enough.

The movement began again.

Deeper.

Faster.

Path after path was touched.

Data after data was taken.

The pressure mounted.

But this time.

They weren't walking in blindly.

They knew it was a trap.

And they stepped forward anyway.

Elsewhere.

Arman stood before the window.

Looking out at the city.

The tiny lights looked like stars fallen to earth.

Beautiful.

Yet fragile.

He raised the glass in his hand.

Observing the liquid inside.

"They are braver than I thought," he muttered.

But there was no worry there.

Only interest.

And a hint of anticipation.

Because the game was changing.

And he liked it.

At the hospital.

Sophia suddenly clutched her stomach.

A small movement.

But enough to make Adrian turn instantly.

"What is it."

His tone changed.

Sharper.

More worried.

Sophia shook her head slowly.

"Just… a little pain."

But her breathing wasn't fully steady.

Adrian moved closer immediately.

Closer than before.

"Stop."

Sophia looked at him.

There was a hint of refusal.

But this time.

She did not argue.

She knew her body had limits.

And she could not ignore them.

Daniel closed his laptop for a moment.

"We can continue later."

Leonard nodded.

"Yeah. We won't lose everything in one night."

Sophia leaned back again.

Closing her eyes.

But her mind kept working.

Because she knew.

They had already gone too far.

To stop now.

Adrian sat beside her.

Without a word.

But his hand remained there.

Close.

Ready.

And for a moment.

Everything felt calmer.

But only on the surface.

Because beneath it.

The fire was already burning.

And nothing could put it out.

The game had entered a deeper phase.

More dangerous.

And this time.

Every step.

Would determine.

Who would survive.

And who would be destroyed.
