Evelyn's POV
Less than half an hour later, our luggage had been loaded into the waiting vehicle outside the hotel.
The concierge stood at the entrance with several members of the hotel staff, each of them offering warm smiles and polite farewells as we stepped outside. During the past several days, the hotel had gradually become more than just a place to sleep. It had become a quiet sanctuary where I had celebrated small victories, recovered from difficult moments, and slowly found the confidence I hadn't realized I was missing.
As I climbed into the back seat beside Sophia, I found myself looking up at the building one last time.
"Goodbye," I whispered almost absentmindedly.
Liora, who had already made herself comfortable on the opposite seat, immediately leaned forward with narrowed eyes.
"Who are you talking to?" she asked suspiciously before following my gaze toward the hotel. "Don't tell me you've become emotionally attached to the building."
