"Why aren't you asleep yet?" Adrian Quincy suddenly spoke, startling Claire Sinclair, who was lost in her own little world.
Claire Sinclair whipped around, her legs clamping together as her heart inexplicably began to pound out of rhythm.
"Um… I… I can't sleep…" Claire Sinclair almost blurted out, "I was waiting for you."
'I wanted to know what time he usually goes to bed. I wanted to understand him better…'
Adrian Quincy walked up to her. He slipped an arm around her waist, suddenly pulling her into his embrace. He looked down, their eyes meeting.
Even though he was dressed, Claire Sinclair could still feel the scorching heat of his body, as hot as the blood flowing through his veins. This sensation, so real yet so dreamlike, made her willing to lose herself to him completely.
She couldn't help but lift her head, seeking out his thin lips and slowly claiming his tenderness. She wanted to become one with him, to never be apart.
