A gray castle stood grimly against the night sky.
Miles Xavier drove into the courtyard and entered the castle, wounded.
A woman in black was already waiting in the main hall, trimming her nails with a clipper and eyeing him askance as he approached.
No one dared to stop Miles Xavier as he stormed in. The servants all gave him a wide berth, muttering, "Good evening, sir..."
'To hell with 'sir'!' Miles was sick of the title.
He strode up to the woman in black and kicked over the coffee table in front of her. "Catherine, have you caused enough trouble?"
"Heh, so you finally decided to come see me?" Catherine sneered, tossing the nail clippers aside and standing up.
Even in her tall leather boots, she still had to look up to speak into Miles Xavier's ear. "I told you, if you divorced me, you could forget about marrying anyone else!"
