"I knew you were calling about this. Don't worry, the fish has taken the bait," Ryan Osborne said with a mysterious smile.
Jenson Shelby was highly efficient. He said he'd bring Mary Preston over, and sure enough, he took Ashley Bowen to the airport to meet her the very next day.
Near the airport, Ashley Bowen bought a bouquet of carnations. She was nervous because she couldn't picture her mother's face at all.
Clutching the flowers, she stood in the arrivals hall, unable to suppress her anxiety. She remained silent, her eyes fixed on the passenger exit.
A pair of large, warm hands gently wrapped around her shoulders from behind. A gentle voice soothed her, "Nervous?"
"Yeah." Ashley Bowen nodded, turning to meet Jenson Shelby's concerned gaze.
Jenson Shelby smiled slightly. "Don't worry. She's your birth mother. You don't have to be afraid of her."
