Ashley Bowen was fuming.
Howard threw his hands up and stuck out his tongue. "I'm not trying to cause trouble. I just want to have a nice meal. Surely you're not going to refuse to treat me to a single dinner, are you, Boss Shelby?"
"You..." Jenson Shelby spun around and glared at Howard, caught between wanting to curse him out and knowing he shouldn't.
"Why don't I order? You two will let the lady choose, won't you?" Ashley Bowen finally relented. She glanced at both men, and when they didn't object, she stepped out of the private room to call a waiter in.
After ordering five meat dishes, two vegetable dishes, and a soup, Ashley Bowen smiled at the two men. "Should we get some beer?"
"I'm driving, so I'm not drinking," Jenson Shelby answered curtly.
"That's fine, Shay. We can drink," Howard said shamelessly. "Waiter, bring us four beers to start."
