On June 5th, Holly Winslow sent each of her students a red envelope with 67.8 yuan. There wasn't much left of her monthly salary.
'Oh well. No worries, she has a husband.'
Class Five was the first group of students she had ever taught, so she had naturally developed a deep affection for them. A crowd of students gathered around her, talking until she was moved to tears.
In the end, the group of half-grown kids ended up hugging her and sobbing, each one promising to do well on their exams.
The night before the college entrance exams, she visited every single one of her students' dorm rooms. Since they were spread across several different schools, she had to rush to see them all before lights out, running until she was drenched in sweat.
It was already eleven o'clock, right at lights out, when she finally left the No. 4 High School. She sat panting by the school gate, waiting for Mortimer Quincy to pick her up. She must have been exhausted.
As she waited, she fell asleep.
