After she left, Anna Willow couldn't help but sigh. "Lily Chandler has changed so much."
Holly Winslow nodded in agreement.
Pantheon chimed in, "That's normal. I have a good buddy from junior high who's been hauling bricks on construction sites for years. He looks like he's in his thirties or forties."
"It's a real shame about him. His grades were decent back then, but he got expelled for fighting. After that, he just left to find work with his family."
He sighed at the thought. "It really is better to get a good education. It's tough at the time, but life is easier later on."
Chase Hawkins took a bite of barbecue. "Duh. Why else do you think the country promotes education?"
"To have kids?"
Pantheon: "..."
He irritably slapped Chase's chopsticks. "Quincy, with an attitude like yours, it's a miracle your wife can even stand you."
Speaking of which, aside from Holly Winslow, Chase Hawkins's wife was the most beautiful among their group. She was a dance teacher.
