By the time they neared the entrance of Millstone Peak Village, the sky had turned completely dark, and lights were on in every house. Felix Thorne stood at the village entrance, swinging his flashlight back and forth, consumed with anxiety. He was worried about Tang Xiaonan and Amanda Chapman. As for Jim Thorne, he wasn't worried in the slightest. That little rascal was so troublesome even a kidnapper would reject him; he'd be fine even if he ran to the ends of the earth.
Hearing footsteps, Felix Thorne called out, "Tang Xiaonan?"
"Dad!"
Tang Xiaonan shouted back. The weight on Felix Thorne's heart was finally lifted. He hurried forward, took Tang Xiaonan from Jim Thorne's back, and then slapped Jim on the back of the head. "You don't come home after school, and you drag Tang Xiaonan and Amanda all over the place! If anything had happened to them, I'd have skinned you alive!"
