Leona Grant leaned down and kissed her lips.
Tears streamed down Annabelle Linton's face as she felt his kiss. 'How many more kisses like this will we have?'
At that thought, Annabelle Linton's tears fell even more furiously.
Leona Grant had only meant to kiss her gently, to offer some comfort, but he never expected her to start crying even harder. He felt a wave of helplessness.
Wiping away her tears, he sighed and said, "Don't worry. I'll keep the promises I made to you, even if it costs me my life. Please, stop crying, alright?"
Seeing her tears continue to fall unabated, he wiped them away helplessly and said, "You never cry, not even when you're hurt or bleeding. What's wrong with you now? Are you trying to use up a lifetime's worth of tears all at once?"
