Quincy's heart clenched, and he frowned at the girl still fast asleep.
"Why... Why are you doing this to me..." Tiana said, shaking her head in distress as she choked back sobs.
He gripped Tiana's small hands tightly and coaxed her in a soft, gentle voice, "Don't be afraid. No one is going to hurt you."
Tiana gradually calmed down upon hearing his voice. He reached up to smooth her furrowed brow and continued to soothe her softly, "Shh, it's okay. Don't be afraid. With me here, no one can hurt you. No one will ever be able to."

By the time Leo Joyce woke up, it was already night. He must have had too much to drink, because his head felt like it was about to split open.
He raised a hand to pat his head a couple of times, then pushed his aching body to sit up in bed.
He frowned as he looked around the familiar bedroom, trying to remember how he'd gotten here. But he had completely blacked out; he couldn't remember a thing.
