"I'm not crying. I won't cry." Though tears were streaming down her face, Tiana stubbornly refused to admit it.
Quincy's voice was hoarse with exasperation. "Then what do you want? Is there something you want to do, or something you want to tell me?"
By now, Tiana was exhausted from crying, and hungry too. She was suddenly overcome with a craving, a nostalgia for the meals Quincy used to cook. She looked up, her eyes red and swollen. "Quincy, it's been so long since I've had your cooking. I'm hungry. I want to eat."
At her words, a vein throbbed in Quincy's forehead, and his expression darkened.
'It's not even dawn, and this little brat wants a meal? And she expects *me* to cook it? With this kind of time on my hands, I'd much rather be sleeping!!'
"You... you're really trying to be the death of me." Despite his words, Quincy gently released Tiana, stood up, and headed for the kitchen.
