Fiona Wright and Vera Xavier had gone through the ordeal with Susan Caldwell's slander together the day before. So, even though they had known each other for less than three days, Fiona already considered Vera a good friend.
She was also extremely confident in Vera's character, which was why she was so anxious now.
Fiona Wright looked at her worriedly. "That may be true, but..."
"It's alright." Vera Xavier's heart warmed at Fiona Wright's worried gaze. She smiled. "This is really just a minor issue. Trust me, I have a way to handle it."
Fiona Wright recalled Vera's composure when she dealt with Susan Caldwell the day before, and how decisive she'd been when she fought back. Although Fiona was still worried, she didn't press the issue.
'Worst-case scenario,' she thought, 'I'll just step forward and prove Vera's innocence myself.'
