Leo Wright lowered his head and said nothing. A smirk played on Susan Caldwell's lips. "I heard there's been a major crackdown on drug traffickers around Yulara lately," she mused. "What do you think? Say an investigator shows up, and it just so happens that woman is a drug lord's mistress. Wouldn't that be an interesting little scenario?"
Leo Wright was slightly taken aback. He was formerly with a security company, and at his core, he was an upright man. He disapproved of Susan Caldwell using her father's influence to mobilize government departments for her own selfish ends.
But he had been by her side for years, and in that time, he had developed secret feelings for her he was ashamed to admit. He couldn't bear to see her unhappy or sad; he would do anything just to see her smile.
So, he said in a low voice, "If that's the case, then that woman will likely rot in prison."
