Grandma Dixon was afraid of being too direct and hurting Vera Xavier's pride, so she spoke tactfully.
Vera Xavier had already been told she was skinny by two people today, though she had vehemently disagreed with the other person who'd said it.
She glanced down at her body but couldn't see where she was supposedly so skinny. She just had a standard, slender figure.
A warmth spread through Vera Xavier's heart. She chuckled and said, "Thank you, Grandma Dixon. If I'm ever truly starving, I'll definitely come find you."
Grandma Dixon smiled and nodded. She knew Vera Xavier wouldn't go hungry when Zachary Preston was home, but when he wasn't, all bets were off. After all, that was just how Rona Langdon was.
Grandma Dixon had heard what was going on with Cara Preston next door, so she asked, "What exactly happened with Cara?"
Vera Xavier said softly, "I'm not entirely sure myself, but I'm confident that since my mom went, she'll definitely be able to bring her back."
