Wu Yue watched Qingcao slap her own face, then viciously rub it a couple of times. Her legs started to tremble. 'What kind of grudge is this?'
'She's so brutal!'
Qingcao, her chubby face scrunched up, held out the hand she had just used to smack herself. "Yue, didn't you get bitten?"
Staring at the mosquito in her palm—a creature as big as a knuckle—Wu Yue felt a wave of goosebumps break out all over her body.
'Holy crap! Is this damn thing a mosquito?'
'This has to be against the rules. Did it grow up on steroids or something?'
But then, she heard the faint, distinctive buzzing of more mosquitoes. Wu Yue followed the sound and saw several more taking off from the nearby grass. Their target was obvious.
'So we didn't come here to bathe at all. We came here to be washed for the mosquitoes.'
'Getting ourselves all clean for them to bite.'
She silently shuffled closer behind Qingcao. 'This way, maybe the giant mosquitoes won't notice me.'
