After Rose White called the police, officers from the local precinct arrived quickly.
The BBQ restaurant was still full of dining customers. When they saw two police officers, one tall and one short, walk in, they all fell silent and stared.
Seeing this, the restaurant owner hurried over. "Officers, what brings you here? My restaurant is a legitimate business. We haven't done anything illegal!"
The two officers looked at the owner with blank expressions. "We received a report about the theft of a valuable item here. Please cooperate with our investigation."
The owner was taken aback. "Theft of a valuable item?"
The tall officer didn't waste time arguing with him. "Where is private room 102?"
"Oh! This way. Please, follow me!"
The restaurant owner led the two officers toward private room 102, and an uproar immediately erupted in the restaurant.
"Private room 102? Isn't that the room Hector Vaughn and Sylvia Vaughn went into?"
"What on earth happened? The police are involved?"
