When Rose White saw Hector Vaughn and Sylvia Vaughn walk into the restaurant together, her eyes lit up with interest as she watched the pair. "Let me tell you, Aurora, Hector Vaughn is one of the most sought-after upperclassmen at our school. The girl next to him is Sylvia Vaughn, and out of all of Hector's admirers, she's the most obsessed. And get this—Sylvia is no simple character. Her dad is the principal of our school, which means he'll be your principal, too. I remember hearing that Hector was just on a date with the campus belle, Camille Yancey, not too long ago. He's moved on to Sylvia so fast!"
Rose White rattled on, but when she didn't get a response from Aurora Sterling, she turned and found her friend staring at Hector Vaughn and Sylvia Vaughn with a serious expression.
"Hey, Aurora! Why the serious face?" Rose White leaned in with a mischievous grin. "What? Don't tell me you've fallen for Hector at first sight. You can't do that! You're already spoken for."
