Timothy Sterling had just seen Joy Dalton's body and hadn't even had a moment to process it. Now, with Mrs. Dalton causing a scene, he grew even more impatient. "Mother-in-law! Joy broke the law! She was under guard at the hospital. I wasn't the one who left her here alone! And I certainly didn't kill her, so why are you coming after me?!"
How could Mrs. Dalton not cause a scene with Timothy Sterling? With both her daughters now dead, her connection to the Sterling family was all but gone. If she didn't act out now, what would she do if Timothy decided to stop supporting her later?
"You... you're heartless! How could you say such a thing! What law did my Joy break?! Why would she do something like that out of the blue! Mrs. Dalton clawed at Timothy Sterling like a mad dog, completely oblivious to the onlookers' stares.
