The first voice belonged to Marcus Jarvis; the second, to Cedric Grant.
Jean Jarvis nearly ground her teeth to dust. She lifted her foot and stomped hard on Cedric Grant's.
Cedric Grant immediately let out a wail of pain, and everyone's gazes shifted back to him.
Clara Grant asked with deliberate innocence, "What's wrong? Don't tell me my mother's fork somehow ended up in your foot?"
Cedric Grant frowned, forcing himself to endure the pain in his foot. He shot Jean Jarvis an irritated glare, then turned back to Clara Grant and forced a smile. "No, no, Clara, Dad's fine. Don't you worry."
Clara Grant couldn't help but roll her eyes. 'He really thinks highly of himself. Who said I was worried about him?'
Jean Jarvis was so angry she was grinding her teeth, but with Marcus Jarvis present, she couldn't say anything openly.
