"Ahem..." Before he could finish, Seth Quinn let out another soft cough. Clara Grant glanced back at him. 'Why is he coughing so much today?' she wondered. 'Does he have a cold?'
Rowan Linden shot him a wry look. 'Heh. Didn't he say that once he achieved his goal, he wouldn't care if she hated him after finding out the truth?'
'He's successfully married Clara Grant now, so why does he look anything but unafraid of her hating him?'
"Dr. Linden, are you saying Cherie's surgery was a success? That she's recovering quickly and is in good health now?" Clara Grant asked, turning back to Rowan Linden.
Rowan Linden figured that since Seth hadn't decided to tell her the truth yet, he might as well play along. 'That's what friends are for, right?'
"Yes, her condition looks good. There are no major issues at the moment. We'll keep her under observation for a little longer, and if nothing comes up, she can be discharged."
