Mrs. Ellsworth pointed under the table. "It's over there. You have one hour to get back, or I'm confiscating the car again."
Zoe Ellsworth nodded. "Don't worry, I will."
She drove back to the dance club. As soon as she walked in, she saw a few of her friends were still there, but Jason Irving was nowhere to be found.
Zoe Ellsworth walked up and patted a female friend on the shoulder. "I'm back."
The friend looked startled. "Zoe, didn't you leave? Why are you back?"
Zoe Ellsworth shrugged it off. "Just came out to hang for a little longer before I head back. Where's Jason Irving?"
Her friends exchanged uneasy glances, then one of them stammered, "Jason... he... he went home."
Zoe Ellsworth was skeptical. "No way. You guys are all still here, but he left? That's a first."
She sat down on the sofa, poured herself a drink, and took a few small sips.
Before she could even swallow, Jason Irving appeared on the elevated stage, dancing passionately with a showgirl.
