Nora Ainsworth quietly opened the door and peeked out to see Ryan leaving with a reporter holding a camera in the hallway.
She understood at once.
'He's trying to start a scandal with me for publicity.'

She saw Ryan and the reporter go down the stairwell. Most of the film crew had already gone to bed, and the hallway was silent.

Nora saw the door close and stared at the room, a little confused. 'If he wanted to stage a scandal, why would he send the reporter away?'
'Is it because he wants to create a scandal with an actress out in the open, but going into the director's room—709—would just start rumors about the casting couch?'
