"Dad, I'll go check on him." Cecilia hadn't finished eating. She grabbed two small steamed buns, tore them open, stuffed some of the dishes inside, and headed out.
Ian was already at the restaurant entrance.
Cecilia caught up to him. "Ian, what's wrong? Did someone make you angry?" 'Did he also notice how strange Father-in-law was acting toward me?'
Ian, worried he might scare her, didn't dare confess his situation. "I'm not angry. I just finished eating and wanted to get some air."
Cecilia chuckled. "And here I was thinking you were angry. How come you ate so little today?"
"The food here isn't really to my liking."
Cecilia replied, "But you said it was great last time."
Ian said, "...Today's food isn't to my liking."
Cecilia said, "I didn't eat much last time, but I think it's not bad. This little bun stuffed with green peppers and dried shrimp is delicious. You didn't get to try it. Here, have a bite." She held it up to his mouth.
