The sun was already high in the sky when Cecilia Adler woke.
She sat up, leaning against the headboard as she recalled their wild night together.
A blush crept up her cheeks.
Ian Quincy came in from outside, his eyes full of doting affection. "Sweetheart, I got into the University of Valoria through the competition. Are you happy?"
Cecilia Adler's heart leaped into her throat. 'He's lost his memory again? And he's even forgotten what we did together.'
Last night, she had wanted to ask him why he had left and then returned, but he never gave her a chance to speak. She feigned excitement and congratulated him, then carefully probed, "Ian, do you ever find that you've suddenly forgotten what happened the day before?"
A trace of concern flickered in Ian Quincy's eyes. "Why do you ask? Did you forget what happened yesterday?"
