Cecilia Adler finished her shower and leaned against the headboard to wait for him. When he didn't show up after a long time, she got up to look for him.
She gently pushed open the guest room door to find him still reading. Walking closer, she asked, "Ian, aren't you going to rest?"
"You go ahead and rest. I'm going to read a little longer."
Cecilia bent over, making a move to close his book. "Early to bed, early to rise, then you can..."
"I can't sleep." Ian gently but firmly pushed her hand away.
Cecilia's brow furrowed almost imperceptibly. 'What's his problem now?'
'He was perfectly fine during the day.'
'And now he's giving me the cold shoulder just like that?'
'Jerk!'
'I am so going to cure him of this petulance today!'
She sat on his lap, wrapped her arms around his neck, and gave him a sultry look. Tilting her head, she cooed, "How about we do something else?"
