The spot where the van had stopped earlier wasn't far from Temple Street. That was the most famous night market street, lined with rows of mobile stalls every evening.
These mobile stalls sold everything, from small things like a cup of milk tea or a pair of socks, to large items like tea sets, jade, and antiques. There were also many fortune-telling and palm-reading booths among them.
Additionally, there were theatrical performances, martial artists showing off their skills, and medicine-selling demonstrations. It was a dazzling array of attractions, so the crowds of visitors were endless.
After nine o'clock at night, when the crowds of visitors gradually thinned out, many dai pai dongs would start setting up tables and chairs, opening for business and staying open until two or three in the morning.
It was called a night market street, but it was more like a city that never slept.
