The scorching sun baked Hong Kong City, leaving it hot and stuffy. From Big Head's Tang Building, they took a bus to the pier and then a ferry to the one on the other side of the harbor.
On the ferry crossing the harbor, Shen Weimin guided Xu Changqing to a window seat. Outside, the blue-green water rippled, and to the west, they could see the skyline of Central.
The magnificent tower that his wife would one day name after herself—Changqing Tower—had yet to appear. The architectural plans for the famous landmarks that would eventually surround it probably didn't even exist yet.
Shen Weimin couldn't help but feel a surge of emotion. 'Who would have thought that something as miraculous as rebirth, the stuff of web novels, would actually happen to me?'
After disembarking from the ferry, with their brand-new documents in hand, the two of them immediately hailed a taxi to a newly built, high-end serviced apartment hotel.
