Sow a single grain in spring, reap ten thousand in autumn. Corn, sorghum, and soybeans were brought to the threshing grounds, followed by miscellaneous grains, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and more. All the crops were waiting to be put into storage.
Autumn had set in, and the weather was as fickle as ever. One moment, the sun would be shining brightly overhead; the next, the sky would be filled with dark clouds as thunder cracked.
Fortunately, the village elders could read the weather, so they managed to avoid disaster. After rushing day and night, they finally brought in all the crops from the fields. But was the autumn harvest over?
Not at all.
After finishing the work in the fields, it was time for the "little autumn harvest" in the mountains. They had to wait for the production team to send an advance party into the mountains and return before the entire village, young and old, could go in to gather wild produce.
