Jackson Kensington's brow furrowed. He hung his head, not daring to meet Naomi Kenway's gaze.
Naomi Kenway knew he remembered. A laugh escaped her lips. "Seeing you in such a miserable state puts my mind at ease. I came here today to tell you that I'm doing great. My life is wonderful without you."
With those words, Naomi took Ian Shaw's hand and turned to leave.
A voice called out from behind her. "Wait..."
Naomi turned back, looking at him with a puzzled expression.
Ian Shaw turned with her, his little face taut, his eyes filled with unconcealed disgust.
Jackson Kensington looked up. At some point, tears had begun to stream down his face.
Naomi remained completely unmoved. Jackson Kensington had brought all of this on himself. He didn't deserve anyone's pity.
Jackson Kensington's lips trembled as he spoke. "I... I want to hold his hand. May I?"
His gaze fell on Ian Shaw, his eyes pleading.
