In the Rongcheng City District, in a corner of an Urban Village slated for demolition, stood an old, two-story bungalow.
In the living room, Chen Xiaoyan sat on the sofa watching a TV show, dressed in an off-the-shoulder shirt and a short skirt. The severely injured Wang Hao was in the guest room, recuperating in bed.
Yesterday, Chen Xiaoyan had called Wang Hao's friend, who said he'd immediately arrange for his people to deliver the organization's latest special medicine. It was supposed to arrive this afternoon.
But now the sun was about to set, and there was still no sign of the special medicine Wang Hao's friend had promised.
Though Chen Xiaoyan was watching TV, her mind wasn't on the show. 'Should I call and ask him again?'
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.
Just as Chen Xiaoyan was debating whether to call Wang Hao's friend and ask where the promised special medicine was, there was a knock on the door.
