Aria followed behind West.
"…I tried handling it through proper channels," she said. "Legal, negotiation, everything. But they're not budging."
West stopped again with his back still turned to her.
"…Of course they're not," he paused before turning with a look of clarity.
"…This is what I get for trying to do things the right way."
Aria watched him closely as West's lips curled slightly.
"I forget…"
His voice dropped into a very chilling tone.
"…the right way doesn't work in this world."
A heavy and unsettling silence settled over the construction site as West looked around one last time.
West walked slowly through the partially completed structure, causing the sound of footsteps to echo across the surroundings due to the unfinished flooring.
Steel beams stretched overhead with glass panels already installed in some sections, giving the place a modern and almost futuristic aesthetic.
