All the youths in the room finally understood the reasoning behind the head of the household's decision to form such a massive family in this world.
As for the absolute immunity of an immortal body, it was an undeniable fact. After all, every single one of them present in the room had already become an immortal being in their own respective ways.
For those who had directly consumed the Elixir of Immortality, as long as their vital organs like their hearts were not destroyed or their heads severed, they could never succumb to old age or disease.
Meanwhile, for those who had bound their souls to Arvin through the magical ritual, their immortality was absolutely tethered to the soul of the head of the household. They would only perish if Arvin died.
Oliver remained glued to his sofa. He had never expected that the man he had chosen as his husband was an immortal being.
"W-Wait a minute, Lovely! Are you truly an immortal?"
"What kind of ridiculous question is that, Oliver?" Alrain suddenly interjected. "It is not just him. You are also an immortal, exactly like the rest of us in this room."
Hearing Alrain deliver that answer so casually, Oliver's shock only intensified. His heart pounded fiercely against his ribs. He felt as though the green-haired youth's words were nothing more than an absurd, wild joke.
"What did you say? I am an immortal?" Oliver repeated, his voice rising in utter disbelief. "But... since when?"
"Since your soul was bound to his through that ritual!"
Oliver's pupils trembled violently, completely blindsided by the revelation that he, too, was an immortal.
The fragmented pieces of facts in his brilliant mind suddenly and forcefully snapped together. Finally, he understood the real reason why Arvin had demanded his soul during their pact.
Yet, at the exact same time, a profound sense of confusion surfaced within his heart as to why Arvin was so desperate to bring all of his spouses into eternal life.
Oliver stared at the head of the household, who remained standing calmly in his place.
"Lovely..." Oliver called out, his tone dropping to a much more serious register. "Could you answer my question honestly?"
"What is it that you wish to ask, Oliver? I will certainly give you an honest answer."
"What is your actual reason for turning all of us into immortals like you?"
Hearing the question coming from his thirteenth spouse, a gentle smile graced Arvin's lips.
"There is no specific reason. This entire immortality situation was initially a completely unexpected turn of events."
Arvin paused for a moment, reminiscing about the early days of his journey in this world.
"My original intention was only to search for and acquire the Elixir of the Archmage to help Allen grow stronger. But, as my search progressed, fate led me to discover the Elixir of Immortality, as well as an ancient tome containing the magic of the Soul Seal Ritual."
Hearing that explanation, Oliver briefly shifted his gaze toward Allen before looking back at Arvin.
"Was it because of the original Arvin Vedegra's memories from that era that you wanted so badly to make Allen stronger?"
Arvin shook his head.
"No." Arvin answered without hesitation, revealing the truth from the perspective of his actual soul. "When I was still living on Earth, before my soul was sent to this world, Allen was my absolute favorite character in the game. I liked him a lot."
Allen's previously calm face instantly flushed crimson upon hearing that honest confession from Arvin. Even though he was fully aware that he was now married to the blue-haired youth standing before him, the reality that someone from an entirely different world had liked and favored him made Allen's heart race uncontrollably.
With his face still burning red, Allen looked at Arvin.
"S-So... is that why you suddenly saved me from being bullied near the academy library and told me my face was cute after you healed me back then?"
Hearing that question from his first spouse, Arvin immediately shook his head.
"That wasn't me, Allen."
"What did you say?!"
Allen was beyond shocked. His eyes widened in sheer disbelief upon learning that the figure who had saved him during his early days as an academy student was not the transmigrator currently inhabiting Arvin Vedegra's body.
In his mind, he had always firmly believed that only one person had ever acted as the savior in his life.
"D-Don't tell me that the person who saved me from their torment that time was..."
"Yes, you are right! The person who saved you that day was the original Arvin Vedegra." Arvin answered quickly, not letting Allen drown in his own confusion. "From the very beginning, he had sincerely liked you. But his social status as a high-ranking noble made it impossible for him to ever voice his true feelings to you, who were a man just like him."
"S-So... since when did you start inhabiting that body?"
"Do you remember the moment I accidentally punched your face in class?"
Allen nodded quickly. That incident was etched vividly in his memory.
"Yes, of course I remember! You were fast asleep at your desk, then you suddenly woke up and punched my face incredibly hard."
"That exact moment was when my soul had just been sent and entered this body." Arvin explained the actual chronology. "That's why, after I recognized the face of the person I had just punched, and realized I was not where I was supposed to be, the very first thing I did was ask you 'who am I'."
Hearing this explanation, all the puzzles regarding Arvin's sudden, drastic shift in personality since that day were finally answered completely, without a single secret left hidden.
Yet, as Allen looked at the blue-haired youth standing tall before him, a strange feeling emerged in his heart. He felt that this man from another world was absolutely no different from the original Arvin Vedegra he had once known.
From his authoritative demeanor, his dominant and protective nature, his sharp and cold gaze, his eloquent manner of speaking, right down to the way he made major decisions in critical situations, everything was perfectly identical to the original Arvin Vedegra.
"But, why do I feel like you are absolutely no different from the original Arvin?"
"Perhaps it is because our personalities and souls, despite originating from two different worlds, are fundamentally identical and share the same frequency. But to be perfectly honest, up to this very second, I have never known the exact reason why my soul was suddenly sent to this world and placed inside the body of a villain."
Arvin then pivoted his body. He walked calmly toward the large glass window in the corner of the lounge. Every pair of eyes in the room instinctively followed every inch of the blue-haired youth's steps.
As he stood right by the large glass window, gazing out at the mansion's courtyard, his gaze suddenly sharpened.
"But, regardless of how I ended up here, there is only one thing I must do right now!" Arvin declared in a heavy voice, his hands clenched tightly. "I must prevent the deaths of all the members of the Vedegra family!"
