Chapter 242 - Alrain Vs. Orvion: Absolute Loyalty Overcomes Gratitude

In the special participant stands area, the three of them returned to their respective seats. Kylen sat calmly on Arvin's right side, while Elenora took the seat right on his left. Their facial expressions looked relaxed as usual, as if the secret and tense conversation that had just happened in the square never existed.

In the middle of the arena, the hustle and bustle of the tournament continued.

"The eighth match is officially won by Ordion Vedegra!" exclaimed the female host from the podium, which was immediately greeted by rapturous applause from the audience.

Hearing the match was over, Arvin turned his head slightly towards the back row.

"Alrain?" called Arvin softly, yet his voice was clear enough to pierce through the boisterous sound of the audience.

Hearing his name called by his husband, the green-haired youth immediately got up from his seat and stepped closer.

"Bring your face closer!" requested Arvin quietly.

Alrain bowed slightly. "What is it, My Love?" whispered Alrain who had brought his face closer to the side of his husband's face.

Arvin stared straight at the arena so as not to look suspicious to the other participants, but his lips whispered right into his spouse's ear.

"Don't say anything to Orvion about that desire of yours because I will not make him my spouse right now!" whispered Arvin firmly, his tone of voice leaving no room for compromise. "I know you feel you owe him your life in that era, but trust me. I will explain everything to you later after we go home!"

Hearing the absolute command from his husband who suddenly rejected Orvion's figure, Alrain's eyes did not show the slightest bit of hesitation or refusal. His loyalty to Arvin far exceeded anything in this world.

Alrain nodded in agreement with a serious look in his eyes. "After this tournament ends, please explain everything to me."

"Yes, I will definitely explain everything to you." answered Arvin calmly and gently, glancing at Alrain's face briefly. "Just crush him with your power in the arena later. I am very sure, you will not regret it."

"Alright, I will do as you command, My Love, and will attack him with less than 10% of my power from the start of the match!" answered Alrain absolutely and without the slightest hesitation.

From the direction of the podium, the host's voice echoed again.

"The ninth match this time is... Alrain Vedegra against Orvion!" exclaimed the host from the podium. "Both participants are requested to immediately head to the match arena!"

Alrain straightened his body. He glanced briefly at Orvion's face who coincidentally had also stood up from his seat in another corner of the stands. He stared at the youth flatly, then looked back down and gazed at his husband's face from the side to reaffirm his loyalty.

"I will do it without hesitation, My Love!" said Alrain full of conviction. "I have never doubted your decision in the slightest. If you have commanded so, then that's what I must do absolutely!"

"Give it your all, Alrain!" supported Arvin.

"Yes, My Love!"

Alrain turned his body, walked leaving the special participant stands and descended the stairs towards the arena with very calm steps.

After Alrain left, Arvin turned towards his first spouse who was sitting not far from where Alrain had been behind him.

"You must also do your best for your match later, Allen! Raven is a very suitable opponent for you." said Arvin giving a hint.

"Suitable for me?" asked Allen in wonder, his brow slightly furrowed. "What exactly is up with him?"

"You will also find out later when you are in the arena." answered Arvin with a faint smile.

Despite feeling confused by his husband's enigmatic words, the pink-haired youth could only nod obediently and was willing to do his best to fulfill the expectations of the person he loved so much.

Meanwhile, in the middle of the arena, Alrain and Orvion had now stood facing each other. The distance between them was separated by about a dozen meters.

The green-haired youth stared at Orvion, the person who had once saved his life, with a very cold and empty gaze. His attitude was completely different from the friendliness he usually showed to everyone.

I do feel indebted to him in that era. thought Alrain evaluating his husband's instruction while regulating his breath. However, if my husband suddenly ordered me to crush him, I am certain that this Orvion is someone who will later become a huge obstacle for our family.

The green-haired youth stared at Orvion sharply. At the very least, I must fulfill what my husband said today! I must not disappoint him!

Orvion frowned slightly seeing the sharp gaze of a killer from Alrain's eyes, yet he still assumed a ready stance.

"Alright, ladies and gentlemen!" exclaimed the host on the podium, breaking the tension in the air. "This ninth match... BEGINS!"

Right at the second the host exclaimed to officiate the match, Alrain immediately took a low position to begin his attack. He channeled less than 10% of his total magic power into both of his leg muscles.

Zoom!

A deafening supersonic explosion sound was heard. The rocky ground where Alrain stood instantly shattered into pieces due to the insane repulsive force.

The green-haired youth's body shot forward at a highly terrifying speed until it was almost undetectable by the naked eye.

Orvion was extremely shocked. His eyes widened to the maximum seeing his opponent's movement that disappeared instantly and was almost undetectable.

Thud! Crack!

The loud and wince-inducing sound of bone breaking was heard echoing throughout the arena.

In a matter of a split second, Alrain was already on Orvion's right side and unleashed a very fast and strong kick. The hard impact instantly crushed Orvion's rib structure.

Whoosh! Bang! Crash!

Due to the momentum of that brutal kick, Orvion's body was immediately thrown into the air like a broken doll. His body flew and shot fast cleaving the air before finally hitting the thick boundary wall of the spectator stands very hard.

The sturdy stone wall immediately collapsed and shattered into pieces. Large-sized stone debris fell scattered to the ground, burying Orvion's body at the bottom of the crater hole created by the impact of his own body.

Instantly, the entire arena fell dead silent. Everyone, from the spectators, the panel of judges, to the host froze in silence. They could not digest at all what had just happened. The match ended in just the blink of an eye.

Seeing that destructive condition, the academy's medical personnel immediately ran as fast as possible towards the place where the tournament participant was buried under the debris.

In the middle of the dusty arena, Alrain pulled his leg back and stood very calmly. His gaze remained flat, as if he had just finished off his enemy.

A few moments later, one of the medical personnel came out from inside the hole of the destroyed wall. His face was deathly pale in a state of extreme panic with his hands trembling.

"P-Participant..." exclaimed the medical worker with a trembling voice, breaking the silence of the arena. "Participant Orvion... has passed away!"
