Time continued to roll on without anyone realizing it.
The breakfast gathering filled with warm conversation and a family atmosphere had finished a few moments ago. The dirty plates had been washed clean, and the kitchen was neat again. Yonna had also left for the merchant guild to start her work today.
Meanwhile, Arvin and his four spouses who had finished bathing and dressing neatly were now sitting gathered in the mansion's center room.
"This morning, I plan to go to the royal palace library." Arvin said breaking the silence, looking at his four spouses interchangeably. "I have to immediately look for references about that cloning magic. Do the four of you want to come accompany me there?"
"Of course I'm coming!" Allen, Alrain, and Ordion answered in unison without the slightest hesitation.
"I also want to come with you, Honey!" Alvein added enthusiastically, his eyes sparkling because this would be his first experience seeing the outside world during the day.
"Okay, in that case let's get ready." Arvin said. He stood up from his soft sofa, then stared intently at his fourth spouse. "Alvein, please hide those wings and your pair of pointed ears now so that your fairy figure won't cause an uproar in the capital."
Hearing his husband's request, without needing to think twice, the silver-haired fairy immediately concentrated to manipulate his mana structure.
In a matter of seconds, his pair of pointed ears typical of the fairy race shortened and transformed into normal human ears in general. However, the most amazing thing was the transformation of his wings. The two pairs of transparent wings on his back suddenly melted, wrapped around Alvein's body, and instantly transformed into a piece of long-sleeved shirt that fit perfectly and was stylish on his body.
Seeing that transformation process directly, Allen, Alrain, and Ordion were astounded. They felt amazed seeing those thin wings could transform into a shirt that looked very normal.
"That is truly great magic!" Ordion praised with eyes sparkling in awe, walking around Alvein's body to inspect his new clothes. "I never expected that your transparent wings could manipulate matter and turn into a shirt like that! With this, you truly look exactly like a human in general."
"This is one of the manipulation magic features I had when my master created me in the past, so that I can blend in if needed. Hehehe." Alvein said while scratching the back of his neck, feeling a bit shy yet happy receiving that sincere praise.
"Still, in our eyes that kind of magic is a very great and practical thing!" Alrain chimed in, strongly agreeing and feeling amazed just like Ordion.
In the midst of that awe-filled conversation, Arvin spoke up again to lead his group.
"Now, since Alvein has hidden his original identity perfectly, let's go to the palace immediately. We must focus on finding that magic book about cloning in the royal library."
His four spouses immediately nodded in agreement and stood up from their respective sofas in unison, ready to accompany their husband.
A few minutes later, the Vedegra family group was already walking along the main streets of the capital. The morning weather was very bright. Arvin walked in the middle, flanked by Allen and Alrain on his right and left sides, while Ordion and Alvein walked right behind them.
However, it was not a strange thing that their appearance always invited attention. Along the way, the focus and attention of the capital's residents passing by around them were immediately drawn to a new point: the presence of an extraordinarily cute-faced youth with silver hair walking with the Vedegra noble group.
Moreover, what made many pairs of eyes widen was when they realized that on the back of the silver-haired youth's right hand, a white Life and Death contract symbol was clearly engraved, its shape exactly the same as the symbols possessed by Allen, Alrain, and Ordion.
The people on the street began to whisper to each other, wondering who exactly the silver-haired youth was. Previously, not a single one of them had ever seen that unfamiliar face at the academy or in the capital area. But this morning, their group suddenly increased by one person.
Many of the pedestrians, both men and women, unconsciously stopped for a moment just to praise the appearance of Arvin's fourth spouse. The combination of his silver hair shining under the sunlight and his pair of clear golden eyes made his charm appear increasingly evident and prominent in the eyes of everyone looking at him.
"Honey, why is everyone on this street keep looking at us?" Alvein whispered softly while leaning his body forward, feeling a bit uncomfortable and uneasy with the hundreds of probing gazes from everyone. "Is my magic still flawed and my form can still be seen by them?"
"Of course not! Your disguise is perfect." Ordion, who was walking beside him, whispered back, answering their husband's fourth spouse's anxiety. "They all just feel curious and excited about you because your appearance by our husband's side seems very sudden. Let alone with the evidence of the white contract symbol on the back of your right hand."
Ordion patted Alvein's shoulder gently to calm him down.
"In the beginning, I was also stared at with full curiosity and talked about just like you when I first walked with him in public." Ordion continued with an understanding smile. "Just relax and ignore their stares. Later you will get used to being the center of attention by yourself when walking beside our husband."
Hearing the logical and soothing explanation from Ordion, Alvein let out a sigh of relief. He straightened his posture again and started acting normally. He set his mindset, considering the presence of all the strangers around him as nothing more than grass on the roadside swaying blown by the wind.
After walking quite a distance past the commercial district, the five of them finally arrived in front of the towering main gate of the royal palace.
Seeing the arrival of a group of youths, two fully armored soldiers tasked with guarding the gate immediately crossed their long spears, blocking the entrance.
"Stop right there! What business do you have coming here?" one of the guard knights asked with a firm and intimidating tone. "This is the royal palace area, not a public place that can be entered by civilians carelessly."
"I have come because I want to meet His Majesty the King inside there!" Arvin answered casually, yet his posture and tone of voice still radiated the undeniable authoritative aura of a high-ranking noble. "Deliver a message to him that I, Arvin Vedegra, wish to request permission to read a book in the palace library before the inter-kingdom tournament schedule begins!"
Hearing the family name mentioned, the expressions of the two gate guard soldiers instantly turned pale. They were very aware of the reputation and status of the blue-haired youth currently standing before them.
"V-Very well, Young Master!" the knight answered a bit panicked, immediately pulling back his spear and standing straight. "We apologize for our insolence. I myself will directly escort all of you to meet him inside the palace."
The heavy iron gate was immediately opened wide by the other guard. Accompanied by the knight who was guiding the way earlier, Arvin and his four spouses walked casually behind him, entering the very spacious and majestic palace courtyard area.
Seeing the frightened expressions and the drastic change in attitude of the two soldiers, Alvein who was walking in the back secretly carved a smile. He increasingly realized a fact that the man who was now his husband was truly not an ordinary person in the place he currently lived in.
The five of them continued walking down the palace hallways decorated with marble pillars and red carpets along with a soldier. Until finally they stopped their steps right in front of a giant double door with gold carvings which was the main entrance to the throne room.
"Please wait here for a moment, Young Master. I will go in and meet His Majesty first to report your arrival." the soldier said while bowing respectfully, before finally turning around and going into the heavily guarded throne room.
Arvin and his four spouses stood patiently waiting in front of the double doors.
Only a few moments later, the soldier came back out to meet them.
"Please enter, Young Master!" the soldier said while stepping aside. "His Majesty the King invites the five of you to meet him directly inside the throne room right this instant."
"Yes, thank you very much for accompanying and escorting us all the way here." Arvin answered casually yet still with his very strong noble authority, not showing the slightest bit of nervousness even though he was about to face the highest ruler of the kingdom.
"That is my main duty, Young Master!" the soldier answered while bowing respectfully again. "If so, please excuse me to return to the guard post."
After the soldier left them, Arvin took a slow breath. And then, followed by his four spouses behind him, the blue-haired youth began to step his feet through the wide-open double doors.
With relaxed, calm, and absolute authoritative steps, the five of them walked along the red carpet towards the throne where the king sat waiting.
