Chapter 161 - Chapter 38: Outside the Seal Line

The world beyond Yuanshi City was quieter.

But it was not peaceful.

It was unfinished.

Tiān Lán and Lian Yue stood on cracked terrain stretching beyond the sealed region.

The land here did not behave normally.

distance felt inconsistent

horizons subtly shifted when not observed

wind changed direction without continuity

It was as if reality here had been half-accepted, half-rejected.

Lian Yue looked back once.

The sealed city was gone from sight.

Not destroyed.

Just… no longer accessible.

"…They really locked it," she said quietly.

Tiān Lán nodded slightly.

"They removed disagreement."

A pause.

"Not the cause."

"The contradiction."

Inside him:

_MIRROR_

"Seal line effect confirmed."

"Stable reality ended behind you."

Tiān Lán glanced forward.

"…And ahead?"

"Unregulated fracture zone."

"No unified truth layer detected."

Silence.

That meant anything could happen.

A faint distortion appeared ahead.

Not a portal.

Not movement.

But attention focusing on them.

Three figures emerged from fractured air.

Uniform dark-grey robes.

Symbols etched with shifting geometry.

Each symbol changed depending on angle.

The leader stepped forward.

"You crossed from a sealed contradiction zone."

His voice was calm.

Professional.

"We are the Truth Hunter Division."

A pause.

"And you are classified as a residual anchor anomaly."

Lian Yue frowned slightly.

"…Another faction that labels people?"

The man didn't look at her.

Only Tiān Lán.

"You are under observation priority."

_MIRROR_

"New external enforcement faction detected."

"They operate outside sect systems."

Tiān Lán exhaled slowly.

"…So the world has people who hunt broken reality."

The leader nodded.

"Yes."

A pause.

"And you are one of the largest fractures recorded in recent cycles."

One of the scouts raised a hand.

A thin ring of light formed around Tiān Lán.

Not attacking.

Measuring.

Instantly_

the ring flickered violently.

It could not stabilize around him.

"…Impossible," the scout muttered.

"His existence cannot be indexed."

Lian Yue stepped slightly closer to Tiān Lán.

Quietly:

"They can't read you at all."

Tiān Lán looked at the ring.

"…You're trying to measure me using stable rules."

A pause.

"But I'm not inside stable rules anymore."

The leader's expression changed slightly.

"…That is why you are dangerous."

The leader raised two fingers.

"You will come with us."

A pause.

"Or you will be removed from the system entirely."

Silence.

Even the fractured wind paused.

_MIRROR_

"They are not aligned with sect logic."

"They treat instability as a resource to control."

Tiān Lán looked at them calmly.

"…And if I refuse?"

The leader answered simply:

"Then we stabilize you forcibly."

The air around the scouts warped.

Their weapons did not appear.

They resolved into existence mid-action.

Not summoned.

Not drawn.

Manifested from "accepted outcomes."

One strike moved toward Tiān Lán.

But_

the path split into two versions:

one that hit

one that never existed

Both real.

Both conflicting.

Lian Yue stepped back.

"…They're forcing outcomes to exist before they happen."

Guardian threads ignited.

Silver-blue lines cut through incoming probability paths.

Not blocking attacks_

but disconnecting outcomes from certainty.

BOOM_

The first strike collapsed into uncertainty and vanished.

The scout froze.

"…He is deleting resolution paths."

_MIRROR_

"They use pre-defined outcomes."

"You erase definition before execution."

The leader stepped forward now.

"This confirms it."

A pause.

"You are not a person anymore."

His eyes sharpened.

"You are an unstable reality node."

He raised his hand.

Behind him_

fracture anchors activated.

Space tightened.

Reality began compressing around Tiān Lán again.

Lian Yue suddenly stepped forward.

Her eyes focused.

And for a moment_

the compression around her failed to align.

"…I remember all versions of this moment," she said quietly.

"So your system can't decide how to lock me."

The anchors flickered.

Tiān Lán stepped forward once.

Only once.

And the compressed space around him failed to agree on directionality.

A crack formed in the enforcement field.

Then another.

The Truth Hunter leader took a step back.

"…Retreat signal."

He looked at Tiān Lán.

Not anger.

Not fear.

Calculation.

"…You are evolving faster than containment frameworks."

Then they disappeared.

Not fleeing.

But withdrawing from incompatible engagement conditions.

Silence returned.

The fractured land stabilized slightly again.

Lian Yue exhaled.

"They left fast."

Tiān Lán looked at the empty space where they were.

"…They weren't trying to kill me."

A pause.

"They were testing what I am allowed to become."

_MIRROR_

"The world is beginning to categorize you again."

"Not as system error."

"But as resource classification priority."

Wind moved normally for the first time since they left the city.

But only for a moment.

Tiān Lán stood on fractured ground with Lian Yue beside him.

Ahead:

unknown lands.

unknown factions.

unknown rules.

He spoke quietly:

"…So the world outside the seal line has its own hunters."

Lian Yue nodded.

"And none of them agree on what you are."

Silence.

Not calm.

But forward-moving.
