Chapter 91 - Pikachu’s Magnetic Multiverse Journey! [91]

A dazzling golden Kamehameha surged skyward, ripping the massive shadowy specter clean in half.

A dark silhouette materialized midair with a pop—Gengar, terror etched on its face, frantically trying to escape. Sparks crackled from the electric sacs on Ray Chu's cheeks, unleashing a blazing Thunderbolt. Gengar convulsed amidst the electricity, falling helplessly from the sky, thoroughly defeated.

"Gengar!"

Meanwhile, seeing Ray Chu had finished the fight, Dapple burst into excitement. Spiraling down through the air with a flurry of Brutal Swings, she battered her opponents until they were left whimpering and unable to rise again.

"You'll regret this! The company won't let this slide!" Seeing the tables had turned, the bespectacled woman spat out a threat and attempted to flee.

"Pika! (Don't let them escape!)" Ray Chu was nothing like Ash and his friends, who regularly let their enemies run free to stir trouble again later. His motto had always been "solving problems permanently."

"Squirtle!" The squad of six Squirtle, now fully recovered, leaped forward, their leader confidently adjusting his triangular sunglasses. Six simultaneous Water Guns merged midair into a powerful Hydro Pump, blasting the escaping woman and her suited henchmen into a wall.

Ray Chu beckoned casually, telekinetically lifting the dazed group back toward him.

With puffed cheeks, Lala stomped forward on stubby legs, unleashing a satisfying barrage of Double Slaps on their swollen faces. Having avenged herself and her friends, she clapped her tiny paws together with a delighted smile.

Yet, before they could even catch their breath, horror filled their eyes as Ray Chu raised their Poké Balls telekinetically. With a sharp snap, all except Gengar's Poké Ball shattered midair, releasing the stunned Pokémon within.

"Pika pika! (You're free now!)" Ray Chu declared firmly to the Pokémon who, moments ago, were his enemies.

Their former trainers' faces drained of color, yet they dared not protest. One man who tried was quickly left twitching on the ground, charred by Ray Chu's Thunder Shock as a stern warning.

The newly liberated Pokémon exchanged uncertain glances. After a brief hesitation, all but one Poliwrath chose to abandon their former masters. For the lone loyal Poliwrath, Ray Chu didn't interfere; bonds between humans and Pokémon weren't something outsiders could easily sever.

As for the Gengar—a fully evolved Ghost-type Pokémon—Ray Chu considered himself a master of all types. Their compatibility was clear, and he found he rather liked it. Gengar, released from its Poké Ball, now shivered obediently nearby, too frightened to defy Ray Chu's slightest command.

Finally, to prevent retaliation, Ray Chu revived the innocent Fearow that had been knocked unconscious earlier, tied the group securely to its legs, and sent it flying off toward a remote island at sea. Their return would depend entirely on their own luck.

"Puff!" Watching Fearow disappear, Lala earnestly thanked Ray Chu and Dapple for their help, clearly joyful at finally being free.

"Miss Lala, they probably won't give up that easily. But Cerulean City's police department will definitely report today's events to the Pokémon League. I'm sure they'll respond accordingly." Officer Jenny, now recovered from paralysis, approached and spoke up.

The Kanto Pokémon League was the region's governing body, officially committed to maintaining harmony between humans and Pokémon. They wouldn't openly tolerate such infringements on a Pokémon's personal freedom—especially involving a celebrity like Lala, whose influence was enormous. If the company didn't want serious trouble, their best option was quietly accepting the situation.

Still, it was no guarantee. Lala was hugely profitable, bringing in vast sums annually. Without the Pink Diva's performances, the company—officially known as Rainbow Mirage Dream Entertainment—could quickly collapse.

Ray Chu and Dapple nodded, recognizing Jenny's analysis was sound. Slightly concerned, Dapple asked Lala about her plans moving forward.

Lala declared her dream was to become a strong Pokémon. She intended to travel and battle powerful opponents from around the world.

"Fetch'd!" Dapple instantly invited Lala to join their team, proudly thumping her chest to promise protection.

"Puff?" Lala's eyes sparkled in delight. Could she really join them? Having been saved by Ray Chu and Dapple, she had complete trust in them.

Ray Chu shrugged nonchalantly. If the company remained stubborn, he didn't mind "convincing them again." After all, compared to Team Rocket—a massive network embedded deep within the League itself—this company was just a minor annoyance easily dealt with.

"Though I don't know exactly who you are, your strength alone tells me you can protect Miss Lala. Here are the contact details for the Officer Jennys in various cities—reach out anytime." After saying her goodbyes, Officer Jenny climbed back onto her motorcycle and sped off.

"Squirtle?" The remaining Squirtle turned to their leader expectantly.

The sunglasses-wearing Squirtle thought for a moment, then stepped forward boldly, issuing a challenge.

"If that's the case—go, Ivysaur!"

An energetic Ivysaur emerged, exuding a fierce aura. Intimidated, the sunglasses-wearing Squirtle stepped back instinctively, but quickly steeled himself, firing a determined Water Gun at his opponent.

Whoosh!

Ivysaur's twin Vine Whips snapped out, intercepting the water and sending droplets flying everywhere before ruthlessly striking Squirtle.

Squirtle winced painfully. Not only was Water at a disadvantage against Grass-types, but Ivysaur was also an evolved form. Losing wouldn't be shameful, but this particular Squirtle wasn't one to surrender easily.
