Trees larger than planets blurred past on both sides in an endless stream of shifting bark and glowing script. The ground beneath his feet was a constant river of runes that tried, and failed, to catch hold of him as he moved. He had stopped trying to measure the exact distance after the first few million void units. It no longer mattered. Only the growing density of the living scripts ahead told him he was still heading in the correct direction.
