Chapter 56 - Chapter 56-18+

Leaving the internet cafe, I couldn't shake off my worry. If my mom found out all my allowance was gone, how would I explain it to her?

Then, an idea struck me. With a little time left, I used the last of my money to buy a bunch of game tokens—the kind you insert into arcade machines.

These tokens are about the same size as coins. If I stuffed them into my piggy bank, wouldn't that cover things up?

After all, these tokens are pretty cheap.

I couldn't help but admire my own cleverness. When I put my mind to it, even Da Guo might not be a match for me.

Time flew by, and before I knew it, the weekend had arrived. On Saturday morning, the package was delivered.

I had the package delivered to a convenience store near my home, where they agreed to hold and receive it for me—just a one-yuan service fee.

On Saturday morning, my mom went shopping as usual, partly to avoid Daguo, since he had been coming over every weekend lately.

Daguo had originally wanted me to visit his place, but I lied and said I was going shopping with my mom. This way, I avoided both going to his house and having him come to mine.

Although I felt a bit regretful about missing the chance to be with Teacher An at Daguo's place, I had to suppress that impulse. Having already turned Daguo down, showing up later would seem like taking advantage—I really didn't dare do that. I didn't want to give him more leverage over me, or things might spiral out of control.

After picking up the package, I hurried home and opened it right away. Inside were four cameras, each about the size of a dice.

These cameras were similar in size to Daguo's, maybe even a little smaller.

Before the package arrived, I had read the installation instructions sent by the customer service several times and memorized the setup process.

Over the past couple of days, I had also been thinking carefully about where to place the cameras—I'd done thorough preparation.

Out of the four cameras, I installed one in my mom's bedroom, placing it on top of the wardrobe with a hidden wire. I put another one in my own room since I had an extra.

I also installed one in the hallway, giving a view of both the kitchen and the corridor.

The last camera gave me some trouble. I intended to place it in the storeroom, but if I went inside, I'd be caught by the existing camera in there. If my mom saw me on the monitor later, how would I explain it?

When my mom goes out, she doesn't lock the storeroom—after all, I'm home keeping an eye on things, and I already know the secret inside.

After some thought, I had no choice but to take a ladder and go up to the roof. There's a small window above the storeroom, so I mounted the camera under the eaves, aiming the lens inside. I positioned it higher than the original surveillance camera, so my mom's monitor wouldn't capture me.

Running the wires was a headache—I had to make sure the power cords weren't visible. In the end, I routed them along the eaves and wooden beams.

Unless someone looked closely, they'd never spot them.

"Whew…" Once everything was set up, I wiped the sweat from my forehead.

Installing the cameras was easy enough, but hiding the wires was exhausting. If I hadn't planned it out multiple times beforehand, I wouldn't have finished in a day.

I've never done this kind of manual work before, and now my clothes were soaked with sweat.

At that moment, I truly understood: there's nothing you can't do—it just depends on whether you're willing to try.

After finishing the installation, I took out my phone to test the cameras. The results were good—they were discreet and compact.

If my mom ever finds them, I can say I installed them because I worry about her being home alone. And honestly, that's partly true—my main concern is her safety when she's by herself. I believe even if she finds out, she won't blame me.

Less than half an hour after I finished the installation, Mom came back, having bought quite a few things as usual.

After enjoying a nice lunch with Mom, before we even finished cleaning up, I saw Daguo trotting cheerfully into our house.

I was just about to head to the bedroom for a nap, but the moment I saw him, I instantly perked up.

"Auntie..." After stepping inside, Daguo greeted Mom with a smile and a nod. His face was truly thick-skinned—not a hint of embarrassment.

"Hmm..." Mom glanced at him, her smile slightly off. She quickly turned away to continue tidying up, clearly avoiding his gaze. It seemed she was still a bit flustered around Daguo, especially after that afternoon when he had been fresh with her, and the scene of her masturbating that night.

"What are you doing here?" Once we were in my bedroom, I couldn't help but lower my voice to ask Daguo. Was he here for my mom? Or was he going to ask me to go to his place again?

"Seriously, haven't I come to hang out with you every week? Bro, don't be so paranoid, okay?" Hearing my question, Daguo rolled his eyes and flipped me off.

"I thought you were going to ask me to go to your house again..." I muttered without thinking, immediately regretting it as soon as the words left my mouth. Wasn't I just admitting that I'd been obsessing over this?

But once it was out, there was no taking it back. My cheeks burned with embarrassment.

"Well, you're right this time. Wanna stay over at my place tonight?" Daguo said, winking at me.

"Let's just forget it..." After a brief moment of thought, I declined, though my words lacked conviction.

"Listen, if you don't come this time, don't even think about it again. I'm giving you an opportunity, and I'm not asking for anything in return..." Daguo sounded impatient, probably because I'd turned him down several times already, and always so hesitantly.

"Then... you can't take any secret photos..." I took a deep breath and said, my face burning hot. Over the past few nights, I'd been reminiscing about that evening with Teacher An. Once you've tasted something sweet, it's hard to pretend you don't want it again.

"Fine..." Daguo agreed without hesitation.

"And you can't use this to blackmail me..." Even though it felt like I was being overly suspicious, I added another condition.

"I swear..." Daguo raised his index and middle fingers as he spoke.

"Okay..." I took another deep breath and finally agreed.

"But... how am I supposed to explain it to my mom?" After agreeing, I couldn't help but feel a headache coming on.

"Just tell her you're coming to my place for dinner, then call later and say you're staying over to study with my mom... study..." When Daguo said the words "study," he repeated them, his eyebrows twitching mischievously, his expression full of slyness.

"Alright..." I nodded, trying to control my excited breathing.

Just thinking about being with Teacher An again tonight... my heart feels as if it's burning.

After Mom finished cleaning the kitchen, she went back to the storeroom again. I couldn't tell whether she was genuinely busy or just avoiding Daguo.

Daguo stayed at my house for a while, and then we left together. As he had requested, I didn't explain anything to Mom. When we left, she was still in the storeroom and hadn't come out.

I did call her, though, to let her know I'd be having dinner at Daguo's place.

As we rode our bikes toward his house, I carried my backpack. Daguo was unusually quiet along the way, occasionally lost in thought, as if preoccupied with something.

When we arrived at Daguo's house, I hesitated outside for a long time. I'm a bit shy, after all—the last time I was here, I ended up... with Teacher An. It would be strange if I could face her calmly now. I really admired Daguo's thick skin at that moment.

"Come on... you're acting like a shy girl, all hesitant and timid..." Daguo tugged at my sleeve and whispered under his breath.

"Coming..." As soon as I stepped inside, I spotted Teacher An right away. She was wearing a nightgown and gave me a faint smile—surprisingly, she was the one who greeted me first.

"Teacher An..." I responded quickly, then immediately bent down to change my shoes, avoiding her gaze.

In that brief moment when our eyes met, I caught a flicker of something ambiguous in Teacher An's eyes...
