The silence that ensues, a pin drop could be heard.
Travis' heart is hammering as he stares at Day, eyes wide. Day is not blinking, and the longer he doesn't say a word, the more tears well but don't roll down yet.
He is shocked, and all the things he has in his head, at the tip of his tongue die down because if he says yes, everything will unravel.
He is not ready, but Day seems to be ready.
"Did we know each other, Travis?" Day asks again, this time repeating it slowly, and he blinks, a single tear dropping.
"Day, what- how-"
Day sighs, as if he knew that he would do this. Evade.
And instead of asking more, he simply walks away. Did
He brushes past him and walks to the elevator, leaving him there, holding two wine glasses, and Travis watches him, still stuck in the static motion of Day asking him if they knew each other.
Does Day remember? Does he?
By the time he snaps out of it, the elevator doors are sliding shut, and that makes him drop the glasses and run towards him.
