"Day," Travis looks at the stars, the cold wind whipping his face and drying his eyes. "Can I ask you something?"
"Anything," Day responds, snuggling closer to his side.
Travis exhales deeply, feeling the weight on his shoulders. "Would you forgive me one day if you found out that I have been lying to you?"
Day doesn't respond immediately, and with each second that passes, his heart grows heavier and his breaths less easy.
"What would the lie have been about?" Day finally asks.
"anything. It could be anything."
"Well," Day mulls over the question. "It depends on what you have been lying to me about. If it were something small, it would be nothing to me.
"Like telling me that you are a vegetarian even though it's in your nature to be a carnivore.
"So all these midnight snacks we have been having, very meat-based, made you queasy and go against your belief system," he chuckles to himself, and Travis feels a smile break from his lips as well.
