Inside the Dewlight Residence, the long-running "Dreammaster Selection" event had finally come to an end. The vast majority of the Oak Family members had been herded into a single room.
Under normal circumstances, no matter how many people piled on top of one another, a small room simply could not hold this many people.
But that was fine. The Dewlight Residence was set in a dream, and the interior space of its rooms was far larger than it appeared from the outside. Sometimes, one had to admit that memoria was a really convenient thing.
At this moment, the members of the Astral Express were still waiting outside. Inside this room were only the suspects who were possibly the Dreammaster and Sunday... along with a surveillance camera from Tiriandes.
And this one was not the same as the one in the reception room earlier.
As mentioned before, as a member of the Knights of Beauty, Tiriandes behaved quite normally most of the time.
He was just a little aggressive, while at the same time possessing an obsessive pursuit of perfection when it came to carrying out so-called plans. When making and executing a plan, he always strove to get everything done in one go.
And to accomplish that, having a firm grasp of information was obviously indispensable. For the same reason, Tiriandes had an almost abnormal desire to collect information.
Just like Argenti's endless words of praise and the Noe' tendency to be easily moved, this was Tiriandes' own particular trait, the place where he differed from ordinary people and was excessively stubborn.
This mechanical knight would casually leave a small surveillance device in every corner he passed, much like someone relieving himself wherever he went, using them to collect information.
And now, the little robots left behind by this habit happened to provide him with the means to verify his deductions about Penacony's current state.
When Tiriandes indeed connected through the power of the fragments to the surveillance robots he had placed in the dreamscape on the previous layer, his deduction was further confirmed.
As for now, he wanted to observe for a little longer.
Although the Sunday here had already switched sides, the fact that he was alone with the possible Dreammaster was still somewhat worrying.
Tiriandes would temporarily continue monitoring this place to make sure that he could send the relevant information to his brothers and sisters in this dream before discovering any new schemes from these two, reminding them to protect the incarnation of the Goddess of Beauty currently here.
"Sunday, you suddenly used this method to gather all my incarnations here. What exactly are you trying to... accomplish? And the group from the Astral Express standing outside earlier also concerns me greatly."
In front of Sunday, a Pepeshi member of the Oak Family who could never grow very tall asked this.
When he spoke, however, the voice that came out was not the childlike voice typical of the Pepeshi, but that of an elderly man.
Sunday was not unfamiliar with this voice, because it belonged to Gopher Wood, the Dreammaster. He had often heard this voice in his memories from childhood, so there was no way he could mistake it.
At this moment, Sunday was in an excellent mood. Based on his observations, combined with the illumination of the Harmony's power, he was quite certain that he had not arrested a single innocent person by mistake, nor had he missed a single guilty one.
Including the incarnation the Dreammaster was currently using in front of him, nearly everyone in this room wore the same expression. Their lifeless eyes symbolized that their sense of self had already been stripped away.
Sunday was not unfamiliar with this power from Order either. In fact, even now, he could still use the power of this Path without an owner.
Looking at the scene before him, the smile on Sunday's face widened slightly.
To be honest, Sunday still felt a certain degree of gratitude and respect toward the Dreammaster. After all, no matter what, it could not change the fact that this person had adopted both him and Robin.
But precisely because of that, Sunday believed that he needed to respond to this respect for the Dreammaster with an even more serious and rigorous attitude.
The news that his younger sister had been injured had shaken him for a time, and Mr. Gopher Wood, who had been needling him for a long time before that, had also seized the opportunity to take advantage of his weakness, successfully blinding him and leading him onto the Path of Order.
Under his own design, the dream of the ideal world had even been just one step away from becoming reality.
Thanks to that child named Nero. He had never expected that he had been deceived so deeply, becoming so stubborn that he had even ignored his sister's feelings.
Even now, whenever he recalled that belated awakening, he still felt a lingering fear.
The dream of an ideal world was certainly important, but Robin was even more important. She was the only family he had left.
To him, only an ideal world where she existed and felt happy could become the true utopia of his dreams... What's more, that was a wish he and his sister had made together as children, an oath they had sworn together.
After thinking all this through, Sunday had already sincerely apologized to his sister. At this moment, the divine radiance that had once belonged to him had long since dimmed, replaced by the light belonging to a human being.
In this dream, the awakened Sunday had already changed his beliefs.
The perfect divine kingdom created from a god's perspective was perfect only for a god. Only humans could understand more clearly what kind of world could truly become a paradise for humanity.
Of course, that was something he would have to discuss with Robin later.
Right now, Sunday only wanted to send the Dreammaster who had been needling him into that place with a serious attitude.
As Nero put it, "Send him into my factory. Let one person do the work of 107,336 people!"
"Please rest assured." Sunday said gently to the Dreammaster. "Everything is proceeding according to plan. The obstacles blocking the way forward have also been cleared. It's just that I don't think I should leave Robin trapped in a cage. At least not in front of me."
The Dreammaster opened his mouth, wanting to say something but stopping himself. In the end, he merely complained that Sunday's protectiveness toward Robin was as plentiful as the water in the sea. He still seemed not to have noticed anything unusual.
Sunday continued smiling as he said, "As for the Nameless of the Astral Express, as you know, during the initial negotiations with Mr. Welt, the two sides held opposing attitudes. But now, he has agreed with our idea."
"Why did he compromise?" The Dreammaster was somewhat puzzled.
"Because that child named Nero, that little fellow who has attracted so much attention, seems to quite agree with our plan."
"During this period, I looked into his identity. This explains why he has attracted the attention of so many factions, as well as why he believes our plan can be carried out."
"In ancient history, the Aeon of Beauty, Idrila, disappeared. Her departure was just as mysterious as her birth."
"And this child seems to be a fragment of that Goddess of Beauty, and has been revered by the Knights of Beauty who have now arrived on Penacony as Idrila's incarnation."
"Moreover, he maintains contact with the Aeon of Elation and can get along well with many Aeons. All these things are the reasons he has attracted so much attention. Perhaps for the same reason, he does not feel disgusted by our hope for the return of Yaoshi."
The information Sunday revealed left the Dreammaster stunned. After all, there was simply too much information, and much of it was extremely shocking.
But he did understand the key point: the Astral Express was no longer an enemy because that boy named Nero had convinced them.
That boy, who was like an unstable bomb being watched by multiple factions, really was very unstable. At least when it came to his identity, he was extremely sensitive, and was suspected of being the new Goddess of Beauty.
