They continued. Nero grabbed the beast by the horn with his right hand, and with his left, dig his claws into the skin of its face, before tilting his body to the Right. The beast did a massive pull in the opposite direction, yet it was not enough. It had lost its balance and tipped over, its body crashing against the ground, reducing anything beneath it to smaller fragments of rock.
"That's right! It's lost it's footing! Everyone hit it with all you've got!" Nero said, his voice echoing through the cave.
Yet it was clearly still active. Blue vines erupted from the walls and the floors, flinging themselves at Harken with violent fury. Seeing this, an annoyed look formed on its face.
"You've lived long enough. So much for defeating us. This is pure desperation."
To counter them, he threw yellow seeds that exploded on contact with all vines, meeting them with explosive response, blowing apart any vines they came into contact with.
He reached into his pockets and pulled out a green seed and as he held it, it grew in size and shape, becoming the size of his hand before he planted it into the ground.
the green seed was slowly growing into a more potent form, already sprouting, fighting against the other foliage for control.
Soon enough, this would weaken the bulls control over the cave. It would have nothing, and it would die without its secondary means of defense. As though it wasn't losing bad enough already.
Just as he was preparing to take full credit for the win, he saw someone walk past him. Every time her paws touched the ground, the glowing blue moss around them corroded, turning a deathly and ashy gray.
And as he looked up to her face and body, his face seemed to droop from the small bit of excitement it held before.
"If you wish to kill it, please hurry."
His attitude had zero affect on Maribel, who didn't even turn to look at him nor was she focused on him at the moment in time.
Her eyes had turned a shade of purple, and she had an unusual calm in the way she moved.
as she walked, Maribel had a different vibe about her. Jairo looked at her and then back at the struggling bull, who was being held down by Nero, While Ariel was slashing into its chest and stomach, soon to spill its guts.
He movements sped up, and she was now up against the beasts chest. Ariel was about to attack again, she saw the beast, kicking and screaming, flailing at nothing.
Maribel pressed her hand to the beasts body, and watched as blood vessels and veins first started turning visibly darker to the point of being able to be seen through the skin. Then the rest of its body as well.
Its creams now were of agonizing pain instead of the fury and confidence of before. Maribel was now pressing her hand deeper, passing through its body, all the way to its blue heart that was already turning grey. Next to it was a core, but she ignored it. Grabbing its heart with both of her hands, she held it tightly until it eroded into dust.
The kicking, the screaming, and all of the other attacks had ceased. it was dead.
Jairo walked up close to the body, entirely shocked by what Maribel had just done.
Looking at the grey corpse was giving him the creeps, let alone being so close.
Was was scarier, what when the girl who had just did that, wrapped an arm around his neck, and pulled him away from it.
At least he thought so. It was actually Ariel, pulling him towards the exit. "I apologize. I assumed it would be way easier." She turned to harken.
"Never will I let him scope out an area again."
Harken on the other hand. Simply looked away.
"Hey…we handled it in the end. My apologies."
This was on her. Why employ him to do it when she had one of the better and more stealthy people on the job? Maybe she was busy. Either way, he'd keep this in his head. A better question popped up.
"So that was your power? It's quite impressive."
Ariel shook her head. "It's nothing." She said, though the fact that she had a bit of a smirk and that she held he head a little higher were clear signs of a different story.
"I struggle to use them for long, not to mention it drains me quite a bit. I'm very tired now."
Jairo had almost had a headache just watching it
So he couldn't imagine actually being in the fight. He'd have been squished to paste.
Maribel walked close to the exit layered in vines that already seemed to be weakening, simply touching a few parts that eroded, making way for them to continue.
