Kairo would smile as he sliced the man's leg off. The blood would splurt around like crazy — it was truly a wonderful sight.
The way he imbued his Haki into his blade made sure the man's healing didn't kick into effect until he was very close to dying, keeping him alive, yet at the same time making sure he felt that pain.
This was bliss. This was happiness.
His eyes glowed red as a dark aura seemed to envelop his body. He was getting used to using this Abyssal energy stuff — this would be fun.
"Get away from me, you freak!" The man's voice would begin to waver a bit. Like, sure, he was arrogant, but that was because he had immortality.
Like come on, you're telling me you wouldn't be arrogant after being gifted such a thing?
For fuck's sake, he was born a Celestial Dragon of the noble Rosward family. Ever since he came out the womb, he had always been told he was special and everyone else was less than.
At a very young age, he started training to become a Holy Knight — one of the greatest honors he could get.
Given the Abyss Seal, he became a God Sword. This step would have solidified him as part of the 13 Holy Knights... more like 10-ish, as some of them did die during the incident a few years ago.
That was his chance. His family had won the last Hunger Game and thus won a Devil Fruit — the Devil Fruit he was using.
His Devil Fruit power was simple. The fruit, while being a Seraphim fruit, designated someone as the "god," the "gospel." Sometimes it followed the person's morals or whoever they served — some shit like that.
And if someone did not follow the laws put in place by said "gods," the attacks launched at the Seraphim would hurt them.
Think of it like Divine Smite in DnD, and the people being hit by it were undead and all that shit.
The attack, in essence, burns away someone's sins — the more they sinned, the more damage it did. The fruit's original purpose was a holy one. Only a truly righteous person could bring out its full potential.
However, the fruit was bent to the man's will, corrupted by Abyssal energy, and now everyone could get hit by Divine Smite.
The fruit was supposed to be able to heal, but after corruption, it now poisoned and stopped healing. Its flight was supposed to be holy, but now it looked unholy. An angel had truly been turned into a demon.
This Seraphim fruit might as well be called Lucifer for the way it fell from grace.
{Divine Smith}
Using all his remaining Haki, he would try another attack on Kairo — the beam of light coming from the sky and hitting the boy. And it dealt no damage.
No damage at all. Kairo had a layer of Conqueror's Haki over his skin, and even if he didn't — even if he turned that layer off — that shit would still do zero damage. The only reason he still had it on was because he wasn't trying to buy another shirt. This one was kinda good, and he'd rather not have to buy a new pair soon.
Plus, part of the clothing he wore came from his mom. He would rather die than let anyone damage the last piece of his parents he had with him.
"Stay away from me, you demon!" the man roared.
"You guys throw that word out so often it lost its meaning," Kairo would say calmly, walking toward the man.
"The Demon Child of Ohara, Rocks D. Xebec, the Demon of the Sea, pirates are demons, the giants are devils," he said softly.
"It's kinda funny how everything is a demon except for you guys. Aren't you serving the real demon?"
"How dare you disrespect **—"
Kairo would smile at the man's anger.
Lightly turning on the recorder and connecting it to every den-den mushi in Water 7.
"You may think you have won, but this entire island will be blown to smithereens. No one will leave here alive," the man would say with a twisted smile on his face.
"Ah, I see. So you do not care about the citizens of this island?" Kairo said, looking at the man.
"Hahaha! Their lives are worthless. It doesn't matter if one or even a thousand of them die. If an ant colony dies, would you care?" the man said coldly.
"As long as you perish, it doesn't matter. Water 7 could always be rebuilt — this time under government control." The man looked insane as he was practically spouting out nonsense, looking mad with rage, like he would swallow Kairo whole if given the chance, as if his justice was the only justice this world needed.
The world of One Piece was really messed up. The World Government was as corrupt as they came, but because of very good PR, they were able to get away with the shit they do.
Kairo may or may not send his findings to Big News Morgan.
A/N vote with powetstones.
