Chapter 235: Grandpa, You Lovesick Fool—Stop Teaching Me How to Live!

"Ah, that feels good!"

Jiang Chen and Na'er prowled the Demon Plane, looting what was left, though Na'er looked utterly bored.

She'd expected a fierce, glorious battle—yet here she was, scavenging scraps.

All her strength, her divine spear, her excitement—absolutely wasted.

"So this is another world, huh? Lame."

Jiang Chen sighed. He was taking her on a world-conquering adventure and she still wasn't happy.

"What, the divine weapon in your hands not enough for you? Should I take it back?"

Her head jerked up immediately. "No!"

At Douluo University, while Xuedi and Gu Yue continued their quiet rivalry, Qian Gu Zhangting was in a complicated mood.

He had once believed himself to be the strongest of his generation, destined to become the next Yun Ming.

Then Long Yue appeared.

The Mountain Dragon King!

Qian Gu Zhangting's jaw had been clenched ever since.

With Emperor Tian, a true dragon, now serving as Deputy Tower Master, the Spirit Pagoda had access to vast knowledge about dragonkind.

And among dragons, the Mountain Dragon King was the mightiest.

Even the Light Holy Dragon and Dark Holy Dragon were considered supreme-class martial souls—but compared to that? Laughable.

Though Qian Gu Zhangting had fought Long Yue to a draw, that was only because he was several levels higher and wore stronger battle armor.

At equal conditions, he would have lost decisively.

"Good thing battle armor still counts as part of my strength," he muttered.

Just then, his communicator chimed.

"Grandfather?"

He answered quickly, recognizing the number.

His battle with Long Yue had already made waves across the Federation, and Tower Master Qian Gu Dongfeng obviously knew the full story—including the real identities of Long Yue and the Shrek Academy contingent.

But the old man wasn't calling to lecture him.

There was no shame in matching blades with a Shrek prodigy; there were always stronger people in the world.

"I just wanted to ask how you've been doing at the university," Qian Gu Dongfeng began gently.

"Fine. Teachers and classmates are great."

Between his intense training and his responsibilities as Student Council President—and head of the Environmental Protection and Spirit Beast Development Association—Zhangting barely slept.

Building connections for the future was practically his second job. After graduation, his classmates would spread across the entire Federation—valuable allies indeed.

After all, every Tower Master in history had been good at cultivating relationships.

"Good, good!" his grandfather said warmly. Then the tone shifted.

"So… how are things progressing with that girl?"

"Huh? What girl?"

Caught off guard, Zhangting blinked, genuinely confused.

"Gu Yue, of course!"

Old Dongfeng's eyes lit up. If his grandson could form a bond with Leng Zhuyao's disciple, it would strengthen ties with Shrek significantly—good for the Tower's political stability.

But Zhangting only rolled his eyes. The thought of Gu Yue's plain, unimpressive appearance hardly stirred his interest.

He was the heir to the Spirit Pagoda! Women of beauty and power were countless—why would he settle for someone so ordinary?

Even if she threw herself at him, he'd have to think twice. Groveling? Over his dead body.

"Oh, her? No chance," he said lazily.

The old man almost fell out of his chair.

"What did you say?!"

"I said, no chance. Grandpa, no offense, but you don't need to guide me in these matters. I have my own plans. Anyway, teacher's calling. Bye!"

He ended the call before the old man could explode.

A lovestruck fool trying to teach him romance? No way!

Just imagining himself turning into his grandfather's kind of sycophant gave him chills. No thanks!

Even the story of Grandpa Qingfeng and Grandma Xia was more respectable than that.

At Douluo University, inside a quiet classroom, the Demon Zither Douluo Mo Zihong stood before four students in uniform.

"Not bad," he said approvingly.

Two of them—Zhang Yangzi and Wang Jinxi—stood side by side, immersed in martial soul fusion training.

Ever since the entrance exams ended, Mo Zihong had been teaching the Fusion Techniques course, as he and Ao Rui were the Federation's foremost masters of the art.

But Ao Rui, heir to the War God Temple, was too busy for academia.

So, Mo Zihong—powerful but unoccupied—ended up as the instructor.

Across the Federation's immense population, many possessed fusion-type martial souls, but few could truly master the techniques.

And even when they could, that alone did not guarantee transcendence. Mo Zihong himself was Level 91; Ao Rui was already Level 97.

Talent still drew the line no technique could cross.

Now, Zhang Yangzi and Wang Jinxi seemed fated to repeat his own path.

With Wang Jinxi's martial soul continuously evolving under the influence of Tang Wulin's Golden Dragon King bloodline, their fusion was becoming unstable.

If they hadn't spent every day cultivating in perfect synchronization, the bond might already have shattered.

Fixing that problem was one of the Federation's top research priorities—and Mo Zihong's secret experiment.

If successful, he'd earn a mountain of merit points.

But it wasn't easy. Their martial souls were diverging too fast.

"Come on, Zhang Yangzi—you're lagging behind again," Wang Jinxi teased. "Beg me nicely, and maybe I'll help you catch up."

In the corner stood two other students—a pair of identical twins, tall and muscular, nearly indistinguishable from one another. The older was Bai Haoze; the younger, Bai Zicen.

Their names were elegant, their mannerisms anything but. Anyone could see they were in disguise—most likely twin sisters pretending to be brothers.

Zhang Yangzi didn't get it. "What kind of weird hobby is that?"

"None of your business!" Bai Haoze huffed.

Zhang Yangzi sighed. He already felt like he was holding Wang Jinxi back—his martial soul seemed weaker by the day compared to his partner's evolution.

Were it not for the promises of the Tower and their teacher, he might have broken the bond already.

Now even the twin pranksters had joined the teasing. Once, he might have argued. Now, he just didn't care.

But Mo Zihong frowned. Students shouldn't lose their fighting spirit.

"You two—fight."

Zhang Yangzi blinked. "Huh? Wait, what?!"

He felt instantly targeted.

Without another word, Bai Haoze's eyes lit up with excitement.

"Oh? Finally some fun!"

Ignoring their surroundings, he summoned his martial soul—white wings unfurled, and a golden spiral horn blazed upon his head.

The holy aura condensed around his fist as he leapt forward.

"Zhang Yangzi, right? Take this punch!"
