Phei still had no idea what a Nirvana's Core actually did, which was slightly inconvenient considering the System clearly considered half of it worth offering as a major reward. More interestingly, the mission information revealed that the other half already existed somewhere inside the Coffer.
That simplified the evening beautifully.
Someone needed to keep Danny alive while Phei dealt with the Coffer. Once the Heavenchilds and Maxtons lost their stolen treasury, Phei could anonymously expose their betrayal to the remaining Legacy Families, collect the reward for saving Danny and then open the Coffer himself to retrieve the missing half of Nirvana's Core.
Simple.
'A little theft, a little rescue and little anonymous destruction of a centuries-old political alliance.'
Then perhaps he could finally discover why the System was handing him half of something called a Nirvana's Core before sending him to steal the rest.
